GPG Nations Cup Rd 2 Spanish GP Official Qualifying Result

Team Ireland

9th for Ireland in Aragon, seems like a good result for the team but we'll see at the race. Hopeful for a good race pace in the race.
18th.. 16th
long way down, hopefully it's a good overtaking track
Team China

7th for Cheng. Pretty good result. Now to move forward and hope for a finishing position that's better than our starting position.

BTW, those 2 United Nations cars needs to have their perfs altered for Rd 3 onwards should they continue to be part of qualifying (they don't show up in the race so no worries there). No point in having them qualify any higher than the last row of the grid (they also can hinder another cars run which in turn ruins their flying lap).

Team France

A very good result in qualifying today for sure, and we are of course hoping that this will convert to a good result in the race.
This circuit does have some good overtaking opportunities - the long back straight will be our major weakness here - but the first two thirds of the track should see track position win out.

Team Russia:
We're not so happy to lose 4th place on the starting grid to Wales, it seems like Viktor could've done better. We hope that our race pace will be good this time and aim for a podium finish.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 2 Spanish GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello once again. We’re back here in Motorland Aragon, preparing for the start of the race. Uruguay set the pace in qualifying, so they’ll be one to watch here today for sure. Without further ado, let’s head trackside as the cars can be heard returning from their warmup lap.

Weather Report

Here we go. The cars have all returned from the warmup lap and we are set for the start. Rodriguez for Team Uruguay is on pole, and has Prost of Team France alongside. Who will win the run into turn 1? We’re about to find out.

They’re off! Rodriguez makes a great start and converts pole into an early lead. Cremasco also makes a great start and moves by Prost for 2nd through the first few corners.

The timing shows more movements down near the rear of the field.

Saputra has gained a couple of positions from his starting position of 13th.

We get a good view of all cars between 3rd and 15th in the same shot.

Bobby has made his way past Silva, and now has Kuei and Vukcevic in his sights.

With Kuei chasing down Vukcevic, it’ll make it easier for the American to close in.

Up at the front, Pryce has managed to get by Prost for 3rd.

Next up to make his move is Maslov.

Behind them, Tung makes his way past De Boer.

Further back, Bobby makes his move on Kuei and succeeds in getting ahead.

Rodriguez shows he has pace by setting the fastest lap.

Saputra gets a good view of the battle between Tyrson and Kederer ahead of him.

Tyrson couldn’t get close enough to make his move, and now Saputra has a chance to close in.

Behind him, Bobby is closing in on Vukcevic.

Hatfield goes for a move on Kuei.

He doesn’t get ahead, and has allowed McGregor to close in on him.

Maslov goes for his move on Prost once again, and this time he succeeds in getting ahead.

Hatfield is close enough to Kuei once again, only this time McGregor is there as well.

Timing shows how the top 10 have moved since the race started.

Keranen goes for a move on McGregor.

Running wide isn’t going to help him with that.

As a result, Silva gets by easily and both Grimaldi and Tafuro are able to close in.

Silvestre has dropped 3 positions which was missed by the cameras.

Vukcevic now goes for his move and succeeds in getting ahead.

Back to Keranen, and we can see that he has been passed by Grimaldi and Tafuro.

Rodriguez has a comfortable lead over Cremasco.

Tyrson tried earlier to get ahead of Kederer. This time he gets it done at the end of the back straight.

Bobby makes his move on Saputra. The American is showing some really good pace here so far.

McGregor goes for a move on Hatfield.

The Australian succeeds in getting ahead. Further back, Keranen succeeds in getting back ahead of Tafuro.

Pryce currently sits in 3rd. He doesn’t have too much to worry about for now.

With the race now 4 laps in, let’s take a look at the current standings.

McGregor is right on the back on Kuei.

He goes for a move.

And the Australian succeeds in getting ahead.

Up the road, Vukcevic goes for an attempt to get ahead of Kederer. Meanwhile, the timing shows that Prost has lost another position.

Another position gained for Bobby.

Hatfield has managed to get ahead of Kuei as well.

Further back, Keranen finds himself right behind Grimaldi.

He can’t afford to make any mistakes as Tafuro is close enough to make a move.

Just ahead of them, Kuei finds herself under attack from Silva.

Cremasco still has Rodriguez in his sights.

Prost must surely be thinking of why he doesn’t have the same sort of pace as the cars ahead of him.

Once again Bobby is on the move as he gets ahead of Vukcevic.

Saputra goes for a move on Silvestre.

His move is unsuccessful.

Both McGregor and Hatfield have closed in enough and could be looking to make their moves soon.

Time for our first break. We hope to be back again soon.

Team Russia radio:
We need to pass that Welsh car before the pits. Come on, Viktor! Give it some more! Push, push, push!hot

So far so good

Meh.... Just going down the field.

USA, USA, USA.... Great hard charging so far.

The target is getting to the finish line I guess........

My GPGSL Career
All things considered, qualifying was pretty good! Unfortunately Mirko has opted for the usual "lose positions where possible" approach. I thought I'd told him not too, might have mixed him up with the cardboard cutout though.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 2 Spanish GP - Race Day

Part 2

Welcome back.

There’s not much in it between McGregor and Hatfield.

Hatfield goes for a move on the Australian.

And the former champion succeeds in getting ahead.

We now find Tyrson in the pits for an unscheduled stop to fix up a Throttle issue.

Hatfield can’t seem to pull away from McGregor.

Bobby and Kederer are at it once again.

Saputra now sits ahead of McGregor having lost a position to Hatfield.

The battle between Bobby and Kederer could soon take a turn for the worst as its allowing Vukcevic and Silvestre to close in on them.

Vukcevic goes for a move.

He gets ahead, but puts two wheels out off the track in the process.

That allows Bobby to retake the position back.

Kuei is back in 17th. She lost the position to Grimaldi which was missed by the cameras.

It looks like Cremasco has closed in more on Rodriguez.

Behind them, Pryce still sits in 3rd and does have a decent gap back to Maslov. His position is safe, at least for now.

Further back is Tung who has 5th secured.

De Boer’s race has been going good so far.

Having lost ground due to recovering from putting two wheels off the track, Vukcevic now has to deal with Silvestre chasing him down.

Silvestre goes for his move.

And he gets it done.

Now Hatfield has a chance to close in.

Keranen’s off the track.

The replay shows that he was attempting to make a pass on Kuei, but ends up making contact instead. That results in both cars spinning out.

Both cars get going again, but Keranen now has to make his move all over again.

Behind Vukcevic, it looks like Saputra has managed to close in on Hatfield.

Hatfield will want to get ahead of Silvestre so that he won’t have to worry about defending his position.

He goes for his move.

But he is unable to get ahead.

Keranen has gotten ahead of Kuei.

Kuei isn’t giving up her position too easily and attempts to regain it back.

She succeeds, and gets a bit of space between herself and Keranen.

Saputra has gotten ahead of Hatfield.

De Boer has Prost in his sights. If he gets closer he may find himself in a position to make a move.

Bobby looks to be close enough now to Kederer.

He goes for a move.

And the American gets it done.

Back to Hatfield, and it looks like he has regained the position back from Saputra.

Now McGregor is much closer, and both Silva and Grimaldi could soon join him.

Now Tung is in the pits, and has reported the issue to be Throttle. The team get the issue fixed up and also take the chance to do their compulsory stop as well.

He rejoins down in 17th, but may still have a chance to get back into the points once the cars ahead of him make their stop.

Tyrson now finds himself near to the rear of Keranen.

We still have a consistent gap between Rodriguez and Cremasco.

Time for yet another break. We hope to be back with more very soon.

Team China

Race was going really well until the Throttle decided to play up again. That's 2 races in a row now with the same exact problem. At least it happened around the start of the scheduled stops so Cheng will have a chance to work his way back up into the points.

Team Russia radio:
Good effort on closing the gap, Victor! The podium is still in sight. Let's hope that Pryce is on lower fuel strategy, so we can stay longer on the empty track, while he's going to deal with the traffic after the early pit (I)

Team Ireland

Not a great start, throttle problem has hindered Tyrson down to last, which is bad news for Ireland as Tyrson has a lot of work to go up. Let's hope something happens dramatically, or we may face the worse.
