GPGSL Rd 3 Japanese GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello once again. We are back here again Suzuka for race day, and we should be in for a fantastic race based on how close it was in qualifying. Worseling took the pole position and will be hoping to convert it into a race win, but he may have to work for it. Anyways, the cars can be heard returning from their warmup lap so let’s head trackside for the race start.

Weather Report

Here we go. All the cars are back from the warmup lap and we are set for the start. Worseling is on pole, and has Pedersen right alongside him. Who will win the charge down to the first corner?

They’re off!

It’s Pedersen who wins the charge by passing Worseling into the first corner.

We can see it’s very close between some cars further down the order.

Not much in it either between the top 4 cars.

Gilson gets a good view of the battle ahead of him between Silva and Nell.

However, the SCR driver also needs to watch out for the cars behind him.

Keranen tries for a move on Spangenberg.

It didn’t work for the Snake driver, who loses some time to his teammate.

There’s a slight lockup as McClure comes close to making contact with Rodriguez.

The field is bookended by both MACs. Copeman will surely be frustrated that he can’t match Pedersen’s pace.

Back to the front as we see Kederer go for a move on Jalving into 130R. Hinz goes for a pass on Thomas as well.

Kederer succeeds in passing Jalving and moves up to 3rd.

And to the looks of it, Hinz has managed to get by Thomas.

Scala gets ahead of Ancevski at Casino Triangle.

Elleker tries to get ahead of the MTP as well.

He gets ahead, but Ancevski has looped it. That results in a traffic holdup for the rear of the field.

Pedersen takes the fastest lap.

Warrington is under attack from McClure.

And the Mistral driver succeeds in getting ahead.

At the front, Worseling is doing his best to try and reel in Pedersen.

Cremasco is doing well at the current moment.

As the timing shows, Ancevski is running in 11th. That means he has managed to get a few positions back since looping it at Casino Triangle.

Rodriguez has managed to get ahead of Keranen and is now chasing down Gilson.

Kederer looks to be closing in on Worseling.

Further back, Sanvitale is under attack from Silva.

Luckily for the Alpha driver, he manages to keep his position.

Rodriguez has gotten by Gilson.

We find De Bruyker under attack from McClure.

Silva is still trying to find a way past Sanvitale.

We have a car off at turn 1, and it looks like it’s the Mistral of McClure.

Replay shows the moment that McClure found himself on the grass from De Bruyker’s view.

McClure makes it back onto the track. We also get to see how the top 10 have moved since the race started.

Let’s check out the current standings.

Silva looks to have closed in more on Sanvitale.

He goes for a move into 130R.

And again he can’t get by.

Pedersen again takes the fastest lap.

The gap between Worseling and Kederer keeps decreasing.

Jalving would be happy with where he is at the current moment, but he still needs to watch out for what is going on behind him.

Into Spoon and Hinz is looking to make his move on the MPR.

He gets ahead, but in the process forced Jalving out wide and off the track.

The MPR rejoins, but is collected by Thomas in the Demon.

Warrington will need to be careful not to collect any of the debris.

That’s race over for both Jalving and Thomas.

Worseling has lost the position to Kederer.

Warrington was lucky not to collect any of the debris and now runs in 5th between both AMRs.

Gap is just under 2s between Pedersen and Kederer.

It looks like Silva has finally gotten ahead of Sanvitale.

Keranen is next to try and get ahead of Gilson.

He goes for the move into 130R. Behind them, Warrington goes for a move on De Bruyker.

The Tyrant driver gets ahead, but De Bruyker isn’t willing to let him keep it.

As such, the One driver gets back ahead at Casino Triangle.

Let’s check out the current standings again.

Time for our first break of the coverage. We’ll be back as soon as possible.

Welp, Mullet345 was not lying.

Where's the GPGSL's Charlie? Is there a rule against rejoining the track unsafely? ;)
13th? 13th?! I can dig this, nobody run me off please!

I gotta be honest I'm getting close to the point of giving up. It doesn't seem that GP4 can handle two cars from the same team running at the front! I am active through every window am I long time member and haven't even come close to getting decent points let alone winning or getting on the podium. It's beginning to look like a waste of my time, and MAC's time.

This time it wasn't really his fault! Elleker's attack in the chicane made it impossible for him to return to the ideal line and hitting the curbs so hard could only end in him spinning onto the track. It wasn't ideal but a normal race accident. And the train between him is just 2 seconds behind Matteo who slipped through before, so it really didn't cost that high a bunch of time.
Keep it going guys, again some good points are in reach.
