Good grief, the first race hasn't even been completed and you're moaning already lolz. Fortunes can change very quickly, it's a bit of a lottery, that's half the fun. Good thing is, next race we can start blowing our engines to smithereens, or not lol.
A lot of work goes into this series, and I for one am proud for the chaps that give up their valuable time to entertain everyone. Trying to simulate real-life racing is a tricky business, anything can happen, and it usually does just like in real-life. Just being part of it, and accepting that sometimes @#$%& happens, that's the name of the game. Not everybody wins, however, I have to admit, it sure is nice to win hahahaha. :-)

Punted off. Great

>Spangenberg gets back on the track and continues on, but will not be happy with what just happened.

Understatement of the year. Honestly, what are we even doing here? Racing or ping-pong?! ;)

18th after starting 21th with a double collision with the car lifted in the air is not what i was expecting for the start of the season, while you teammate is leading without major problems. :)

Another impressive fact, despite all the drivers errors no one retire yet...

Oh well, i hope the win will be ours. That would be great for a rookie team :)

Season 9: Constructors' Champions
GPGSL Rd 1 Australian GP – Race Day

Part 2

Welcome back.

It looks like Elleker has finally managed to get ahead of Warrington.

Keranen sits in 9th and has nothing to worry about in regards to cars behind him.

Gilson is still doing his best to close in on Sanvitale, but at least the pressure is off as he has a decent sized gap back to Cremasco.

Yet another Fastest Lap to McClure.

Nell must surely be thinking of what he needs to do to be able to close the gap to the Mistral.

5th for Cremasco would be a really great result for him, but only if he can keep it till the end.

Kederer has lost a position to Silva.

Now he has gone to the grass. Could he have a problem with the car?

He hits the wall and comes to a stop. It’s a Loose Wheel that brings his race to an end.

Behind Silva, it looks like Jalving is under pressure from both Hinz and Spangenberg.

Sanvitale has dropped from 3rd down to 6th. No idea how it happened as the cameras have missed it.

With Sanvitale no longer ahead of him, Gilson can now start chasing after Nell.

One Racing will be putting their hope for points on De Bruyker.

With Gilson chasing down Nell and Thomas ahead of Worseling, we have a team battle taking place between Demon and SCR.

Gilson now has the fastest lap.

Pedersen is now in last place. Whatever has happened to him has clearly been missed by the cameras.

5 second lead now for McClure.

Ancevski is still trying his best to get ahead of Warrington.

The Tyrant driver is keeping his cool despite the pressure behind him.

Ancevski is the first driver in as the pitstops get underway.

Silva is also in.

Next in is McClure, Cremasco and Elleker.

McClure rejoins ahead of Warrington, and as a result causes the Tyrant driver to slow down slightly. That allows Rodriguez to close in.

McClure will need to be careful now so as not to damage his new tyres.

Elleker rejoins down in 19th.

The timing shows that Cremasco has rejoined down in 13th.

Rodriguez tries to make a move on Warrington, but is unable to get ahead and has allowed Copeman to close in.

That’s a very close call for the MAC driver.

We have a train formed behind McClure.

Gilson and Sanvitale are both in.

Rodriguez is still trying his best to get ahead of Warrington.

Both drivers are now in for their stop. Maybe this will be the chance Rodriguez needs to get ahead.

Gilson rejoins, and is now ahead of McClure.

Copeman was able to close in on the Mistral and attempt a passing move.

Sanvitale has rejoined and is now ahead of Cremasco.

The top 2 are in, and Keranen joins them as well.

We have a yellow flag out and can see that Sanvitale and Cremasco are off the track.

As the replay shows, it seems Sanvitale had been passed by Cremasco and was trying to get back ahead.

But a lockup into the corner left him with nowhere to go but into the Tyrant, causing the Alpha driver to spin and Cremasco to go off.

Copeman is in.

Nell rejoins ahead of Gilson, and De Bruyker rejoins ahead of McClure.

With the Demon on new tyres, Nell will need to be careful not to damage them as he defends his position from Gilson.

It could be either the time spent in the pits during his stop, or having to defend his position after rejoining, but McClure will be pretty disappointed to no longer be in contention for the win.

Sanvitale has managed to get going again after his contact with Cremasco, but will be extremely disappointed to have thrown his potential good result away.

It seems Rodriguez was unable to get ahead of Warrington during their stops and now has to try and get by Copeman.

Cremasco has also managed to get going after the incident. He won’t be happy for sure.

Scala is in from the lead.

Gilson is still right on the rear of Nell’s Demon.

The SCR driver goes to the inside.

He gets up the inside into Turn 1, but makes contact with Nell.

Thankfully, it wasn’t a big hit and Gilson manages to get ahead. Scala rejoins behind them, but will need to watch out for both De Bruyker and McClure behind him.

De Bruyker tries to go up the inside of Scala.

With the pitstops still going on, it’s time for another break. When we return, we’ll try to go through to the end.

Nothing against you Sanvitale, but you ruined my race ;)

GPGSL Rd 1 Australian GP – Race Day

Part 3

Welcome back once again.

It looks like De Bruyker wasn’t able to make his move stick.

Jalving rejoins after taking his stop and now finds himself defending from Cremasco.

De Bruyker has lost some time to Scala, but his main issue now is defending his position from McClure.

Thomas and Hinz are in for their stop.

Thomas rejoins from his stop in front of Warrington.

The One driver goes for a move straight away on the Demon.

But he is unable to get by and has allowed Pedersen to close in on him.

With a few drivers still left to take their stop, let’s check out the current standings.

The remaining drivers all come in to take their stop.

Worseling rejoins in front of Thomas.

Further back, Spangenberg is doing his best in keeping back Cremasco while also trying to close in on Hinz.

Now that all drivers have taken their stops, let’s check the standings again.

That’s pretty close to the back of the Snake for Cremasco.

Gilson has pushed his lead out to 3s over Nell.

Keranen is doing really well for Snake so far in this race. At least he doesn’t need to worry too much about what is going on behind him.

What he can worry about is trying to chase down the cars ahead of him.

Elleker finds himself in 10th.

It looks like Cremasco has gotten ahead of Spangenberg.

A podium finish would be a really great result for both Scala and MTP.

We have a yellow flag out.

This is why we have it out. Spangenberg has gone off and into the sand.

Transmission Failure brings his race to an end.

Nell isn’t in danger of losing 2nd anytime soon.

It looks like Keranen has managed to close in more on the cars ahead of him.

Worseling has a comfortable margin over Thomas.

Despite his earlier move that led to contact between himself and Cremasco, Sanvitale has found himself back inside the points.

Ancevski and Warrington currently hold the final points positions.

Copeman only needs one position to move himself into the points.

Keranen isn’t giving up on closing in on McClure.

As we ride onboard with the Snake, let’s check out the standings.

We can see the gap that Sanvitale needs to reduce if he wants a chance to battle for 8th.

5 laps left to go.

Keranen is still doing all he can to close in more on the Mistral.

The battle may actually be helping De Bruyker out as it’s allowing him to push on without worrying about what’s behind him.

4 laps left to go and we can see how big Gilson’s lead is over Nell.

We thought we could make it to the end, but unfortunately we have to take another break. When we return, we’ll be going to the end for sure.

I forgot how many lovely liveries there are this season

No matter what happens in the final part of the race, I'm so extremely proud of my boys! Really amazing driving from both and the strategies worked out like a charm! The undercut for Milos helped greatly and keeping Matteo out while the others got stuck in traffic was the best decision they could take. I wasn't even hoping for a podium finish and a points finish after the somewhat disappointing qualifying, so jeez, I'll take it! Bring it home, guys!

Greg, excellent coverage as always and aside from the fact that life is always first, it was worth waiting for it.
