Test Drivers Feature Race Qualifying session

With the season decider at the wonderful Flevoland GP, GPGSL saw it fitting to hold a Feature Race to close out the season.
The title was up for grabs for 3 drivers : Stoddart on 73pts, Vilela on 68 and Ingers on 60. Sheppard was next best on 55, but out of the equation....

So, after a 30 min qualifying session, the time sheets were posted for all to see.....

Well done to Ed Greenhalgh for the pole position.
Title contenders all in the top 12, with points leader Mal Stoddart in a solid 4th position, and closest points rival Rodrigo Vilela down in 12th. Stu Ingers sitting on the front row in 2nd position gives him a good chance to work some magic to perhaps snatch the title if other stumble....

Dont miss our Feature Race in coming days, with 25 laps of fast paced action ahead.....

Will the mods be both getting updated? I'll probably run Qualifying and Race, so only really need the Race Drivers mod, but still want the Test Drivers mod updated as well.

A good qualifying in the feature race for me, but Matteo's position proves our real dilemma. With apparently the weakest engine in the field, it'll be a tough main event for us. We can only hope for some engine failures at the heavily boosted teams to hopefully snatch some much needed points.

Meanwhile, I will concentrate on the feature race to get a personally decent end into the season.

Only praying... :(

GPGSL-3: champion in 2007/2013/2014!
GPGSL-4: testdrivers champion in Season 11!
A good qualifying session for Ed ending up on Pole and I'm at 18 but as a Race Driver I'm won't gain any points in the Feature Race as it's for Testers.
Wishing Ed a good race and hoping for a good solid win.

Test mod only needed the perf file. The race mod however needs more work. It should be available tomorrow.

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Welcome to the Flevoland GP, where today we see our Test Drivers take part in a Feature Race to end the season.
Title leader Mal Stoddart has a battle on his hands, with One Racing's Rodrigo Vilela just 5 points behind. Stu Ingers also remains in contention 13 pts behind - everything would have to go the AMR drivers way, for him to take the title, but.... funnier things have happened.

Lets go trackside....

Pole sitter Ed Greenhalgh stares down the long front straight, a clear track in front of him....

The Alpha driver gets a good bit of traction off the start, to draw ahead of the field...

Title contender Stu Ingers holds 2nd as the field heads through the first turn, a tight right hander....

But it is Greenhalgh who has control of the race....

Series leader Mal Stoddart is sitting in a good position as they roll through lap 1, sitting in 7th place...

Fellow points contender Rodrigo Vilela is down in 11th, where points he needs, wont be found. He must get going in this race....

Back in the pack, it is 2 wide for a few rows, as the field roars down the long start finish straight to start lap 2....

Positions in the top 10 and their movement early on....

Cremasco has moved past Ingers.....

Positions 1 thru 8 on lap 3....

Positions 9-16....

Positions 17-22nd....

Cameras spot mid field cars heading towards Turn 1, with practically 4-wide action!

Somehow, everyone manages to get through in one piece, with Dan Mills in the DMR leading a swarm of traffic....

A long line of cars stretch up the front straight....

Vilela chasing down John Maverick....

3 wide action as a pack heads towards Turn 1....

This time, their is trouble : Rodriguez has gone wide, and off track....

The MPR hits the wall, loses a wheel...

Then another wheel....

Debris flying everywhere...

Rodriguez's time with MPR is now done, with the Martini Paddock Racing entry, out of the race....

Back on track, it is Maikel de Boer running strong in 5th....

Championship leader Stoddart is in 8th. Points yes, but not as many as he would like, should he remain in 8th - which at Emmelord, is highly unlikely!

Meanhwile it is Rodrigo Vilela who sits 2nd in the championship, down in 11th - that wont get him a championship with minimal points there....

Trouble again! Cremasco has mechanical issues.....

Cremasco manages to find a hole in the wall, to pull up alongside to ensure he is off track asap... Good bit of driving....

Positions 1-8 after 10 laps....

Positions 9-16 after 10 laps...

And positions 17-22 after 10 laps....

Ingers in 4th, locked in close combat for positions ahead and behind....

Stoddart in 7th, getting closer to some good points to possibly secure the title as they near halfway....

And Vilela has been on the move, up to 7th to put the squeeze on Stoddart....

3 wide again, very close to Turn 1 - this wont end well.....

And there it is. Contact. Steer the unfortunate one, going sideways....

Steer rejoins, but has lost plenty of track position....

Replays showed he and O'Brien made contact wheel to wheel....

Looks like Steer was lucky to not roll over....

Out front, it is Greenhalgh building a big lead, as he has managed to get away from any battles, and run his own race. 10 second lead!...

de Boer would be happy to be in 2nd, but not over 10 seconds behind....

Sheppard in the DMR holds down 3rd place....

SCR's Marcus de Bruyker sits in 4th....

John Warrington in 5th, holds off Stu Ingers in 6th....

John Maverick in 7th, with Mal Stoddart in 8th right behind the MTP team boss....

MAC Racing's Nathan McGregor is fighting off Rodrigo Vilela for 9th....

Sean O'Neill in 13th....

Eric Moinet in 14th....

Eric von Draxeler in 15th....

Chris Copeman in 16th....

Paulo Silva in 17th....

Connor Steer in 18th after his spin and recovery....

Matteo Scala in 19th....

Gianluigi Silvestre in 20th.....

De Bruyker in 4th hunting down Sheppard for the podium position.....

Warrington climbing all over the back on Ingers....

Ingers in 5th position....

And Stoddart in 8th, with positions all the way up to 2nd, visible to him ahead....

And from here, we take our one and only commercial break. Back (hopefully within the next 24hrs.....)

Chris, AMR's test driver, Silvestre is available to race next season.

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian
good pace from Maikel so far, one can only hope it transfers to the main series cars too
Thirteen laps and Ed still leading the race and a good finish seems to be in the offering and good points for the team.

Eager to see how the ending of the race goes for me. Shame Cremasco had to retire with a blown engine, but that was one of the risks we had to take with going full boost. Just hoping the race for the race drivers will turn out better as we have a chance to move up a spot or 2 if we get a good haul of points.

Come on Boss get that test driver title!
