Pootang is the word for that performance.

In a parallel world, I am P2.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
WTF? Seb? Dan? We have boost, did you both forget to press the buttons?...

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
13th, plenty of ways to go forwards, but not a great return.

Buttons? What buttons? ...

...

ah damn, I remember, the buttons. Ehm ... I pressed ... it ... yeah, I pressed it. Will do the exact same in the race as well eh... yeah, the button didn't work I think ... @#$%&
Daly, keep back, you won't be punt this time.

Good to see Paulo, and me, in the front rows.

Belated happy new year to all of you.

8th and 10th in qualifying is decent, but now we need a haul of paunts to get back on track for the rest of the season, so not too much risk out there. My own pace in the FP wasn't the best again. But meh, as long as the car suits my main drivers better than me, I can live with it.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
2nd row... not bad, let's get the race started. ;)

11th, hmmm, really hope the race is better!
It's race day! This one has all the ingredients to become a classic race. We're getting nearer to the end of the season, everyone is motivated to perform and we are at a classic track. What more could one ask for.

Gilson is sitting at the pointy end of the field

Five red lights

And they are away! Good start by Worseling

He stays in 2nd

And is attacked by Jalvin in 3rd!

Everyone made it through the first corner

And into the first chicane

Oh oh, there's already a gap opening in the less pointy end of the pack

Nooo, I see slow cars minus bits of bodywork

It's Mills and Kederer, unbelievable...

We need a replay. McClure Misses the braking point completely and pushes Mills into Kederer. Oh dear...

At the front Hinz attacks Worseling and gets the move done

Gilson leads

Mills and Kederer pick up some spare parts

Silvestre attacks Elleker

Elleker has to back off and loses a 2nd spot to O'Neill

Pederson, Copeman and Scala go three-wide into the Motodrom. Fingers crossed...

They survive with positions unchanged

Meanwhile Gilson pulls away convincingly. He is on a mission here.

Scala overtakes Keranen

Rodriguez is having a look at Silva

And succeeds

Copeman overtakes Keranen into the Motodrom

Nell relegates first lap offender McClure down one place

The direction is backwards for McClure. Maybe he has some undetected damage?

A fight for 3rd is shaping up nicely here

Silvestre past Silva for 8th

Elleker is trying to make up lost ground. And we have a new pope - I can see white smoke on the horizon

Nooo, it is Silva's engine which is transcending to a higher plane of existence

Somehow this blowup cost Elleker momentum, he loses places to both Scala and Pedersen

Let's have a look at the standings after the first third of the race

Worseling hands out a nudge to Hinz

Causing him to go wide

No changes in positions, though. But clearly it's hammer time now

Silvestre uses the opportunity to pass Rodriguez

Scala and Rodriguez elect to grab some fresh rubber

Uh oh, what are Elleker and Pedersen doing here?

Front wing damage for Pedersen

And Elleker is hit by...

...Keranen. This will cost Elleker and Pedersen tons of time. I think they can switch their strategy so it remains a one stopper.

Worseling past Hinz for 3rd

Did someone order a new wing?

Mills is in for his second stop

Warrington passes Cremasco

Jalvin and Hinz into the pits

Hinz exits the pits infront of Rodriguez and with Spangenberg in between. This is crucial in the fight for the top points positions

DeBruyker rejoins right in the middle of the pack

It is a neverending squabble for the best slipstream

Gilson and Silvestre in the pits

Silvestre joins the immense fight for 4th position. We are now looking at 6 contenders for 4th.

It is almost impossible to keep track of all passes and duels

Worseling is the man. He stays out an additional lap and rejoins in a safe 3rd place, a couple of seconds behind Jalving

DeBruyker past Hinz for 4th

A matter of honour between Kederer and Mills

6th to 9th in one shot

A quick look at the standings before we enter the final 7 laps

Silvestre passes O'Neill

Nell sitting in 12th in his home race

Worseling is closing in on Jalving and pulling away from the cars behind him

Silvestre and Spangenberg get intimate. I think I can still see Keranen behind the barrier shaking his fist at Elleker and Pedersen.

They manage to not crash and change positions

O'Neill relegates Spangenberg to 9th

Copeman has similar plans

Rodriguez passes Spangenberg as well, he is really going slow, for unknown reasons

The two MTPs are looking for some action

Multi 12, Multi 12!!!!

Multi 21, Multi 21!!!!

Woah, what's going on now?

Nooo, Scala drops out due to a puncture, just two laps from the end!

And O'Neill has to take evasive action!

He loses all momentum and is easy prey for Rodriguez

Spangenberg

and Nell

Further back Cremasco is having a go at Warrington

Last lap for Gilson

And Worseling has closed the gap to Jalving

Worseling!!!!

WORSELING!!!!!

He has done it! just 3 corners to go! The crowd is going mad!

Gilson wins, he was untouchable

Worseling 2nd, Jalving 3rd!

The midfield scraps continue right until the finish line

Wow, what a race. Heaps of Drama - I need to catch my breath
Here are the final results:

Just awful!

-----------------------------------------------------

Mixed feelings. Wish I could've fought harder at the top, but on the other hand, WHAT A RACE TO WATCH! Pure insanity back there, woo! hot

Hat tip for that coverage as well, just perfect. That's the GPGSL I love.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
We managed to take home a single point with Cremasco's 12th place finish. Not the best weekend for us by far. Hoping for much better to go our way in the next round.

Well that was bloody awful

Epic coverage! Edge of the seat stuff right there, and dare I say it, an epic result for SCR! :-)

god damn it....i have no luck at all this season....if its not double pitstops its reliability or being knocked off...
Wow, nice quick coverage! Great stuff....(Y)

As for the race, well, it was.... PUTRID
A bone head move from McClure effectively killed any hope of a genuine decent result for Seb Nell, and it looked like Dan Mills also got collected in the carnage of the first lap. Stinker of a race for Demon Racing. Off to drown the sorrows with too many steins of beer....

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Very happy with that performance, the car was perfect! :-) Maximum points for SCR here should help us in the standings.

Joseph Gilson :: Southern Cross Racing :: Race Driver
Race ruined thanks to Daly being unable to handle his car. Any race were he didn't crash?
