Alpha Motorsports Announcement
Team manager Ed Greenhalgh has today announced Alpha Motorsports' full Season 11 line-up. Joining Tobias Kederer in a race seat will be Alessandro Sanvitale, who has joined the team on a one-season loan from Maverick Track Performance. Alongside Greenhalgh, the team has hired Irish driver Sean O'Neill (aka seanmikeuk) to make his debut in the series as a test driver.
Ed Greenhalgh: "I am happy to lock in our plans for Season 11 after a false start with Vimal. I would like to thank John for accepting a loan deal and Tobias for his work behind the scenes getting the team prepared for Season 11."
Sean O'Neill: "It is a pleasure to join such an exciting team and I hope prove myself as a driver. I have been doing some driving warm up at Jerez using a car from a friend."
The team has picked up a Mazda engine deal from the now-defunct Pulsar Racing Team and will use Dunlop tyres. Alpha Motorsports will unveil their striking new livery in the coming days.

In a shock announcement at a snap press conference today Mal "Meat Pies and Kangaroos" Stoddart-Ecclerston today announced his retirement from the GPGSL management board.
Having sold off his stake in the GPGSL for an undisclosed sum, rumoured to be around four billion donuts, Stoddart-Eccleston said that he would continue to be a part of the series given that he owned a race team.
Stoddart-Eccleston's wizened old frame was assisted into the press conference by a bevy of stunning grid girls, all sponsored by Viagra. Stoddart-Eccleston did not answer questions on the highly unusual sponsorship deal. His only response was "No comment, it's too hard."

The GPGSL requests all team owners and drivers to send in their liveries and helmets until Feb. 5th 2017 11.59 PM BST. Liveries and helmets not sent in by then will use a design of choice of the mod creator. Please send the files in PSD format to Stu.
Please also don't forget to put car numbers and names on SEPARATE layers.
Secondly, the track voting is now open. In addition to the 8 fixed venues as per the rules, all ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS can now vote the remaining 6 tracks from an exclusive list. This procedure is to speed up the whole process a bit, at least for this season, and to avoid buggy tracks making it on the calendar. Every participant with the right to vote has 5 votes. Every track can only be voted ONCE. Less than 5 tracks can be voted, however vote PMs with more than 5 tracks WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Equally, votes from others but active GPGSL participants will not be considered.
Your votes must be sent to GPGSL and marked something like Participant Name - Track Voting S11 or similar. Only votes sent there will be considered. There will only be ONE venue per country.
The track voting also closes Feb. 5th 2017 11.59 PM BST

Shame to see a lot of good tracks no longer available for the series due to the new shortlist and country rules, although at least things are a bit simpler. Perhaps in the future a 'blacklist' of buggy tracks would have been better rather than limiting the selection?
