from some drawing and data got, this is how could look the F1 next year..... (quick edit done at a 2016 shape and 2016 tyres)
they should look better than the last years imo

Lower and broader will definitely look better! I fear, though, that the looks won't tackle the excitement crisis F1 is going through. The cars will be a lot faster but that's something the spectators don't see. And overtaking will again be more difficult, because higher aerodynamics mean more dirty air when you're behind a car. The thrill of the new looks will be exciting for a couple of races and then things will go back to normal.

I agree with the first part and disagree with the 2nd part :)

I lived through the ground effects era of the late 70s. There was no passing at all.
