Firstly apologies for my tardiness, I have been following but been busy with uni work.

Although at this point I won't be submitting my bids until we have a clear procedure laid out so that all managers know where we stand and where we'll be moving from here. Right now I'm getting very mixed messages over what should arguably a rather simple step towards getting the series underway, so I think taking a step back and reassessing how the bidding system is going to work would be wise before we continue.

I think that's a good idea. I know how I think it should be done but the eventual decision rests with Morgiman

The best idea is to scrap the current bidding system and start a new one.

Looks the same to me just more complicated when it comes to engines? Is there a bid deadline?

The bidding will be much more organised. The inactive managers will just have to put up with what remains. It`s unfair on the active managers if they have to wait for some other drivers. The bid dedline is Sunday this week :)

But how will it be? From what I can see all that's been added is this engine development system thing which is very vaguely explained.

So do we have to send the bid again?

Just my two cents but this is what I would do.

I'd have an initial 'Statement of interest' phase (deadline of Friday) where teams would be forced to bid the price listed on the opening page to register their initial interest in a driver. Once the deadline has passed, if that team is the only team to register interest in the driver then they get the driver for his base price so Kimi Raikkonen for example would be £15m.

If two teams had registered interest in the same driver then there would be a period of two or three days where the managers would bid auction style for the driver or choose another driver. Drivers who have been passed up on the first initial phase would then be available on a first come first serve basis for their base price.

For example.

I manage Toyota and I register interest in Rubens Barrichello, Jacques Villeneuve and Yuji Ide. I am the only manager to register interest in Ide and Villeneuve so when the deadline hits, they are contracted to my team. However, another two managers have also registered interest in Rubens Barrichello. I could then decide to a) Bid more for Barrichello in the hope I can outbid the other managers or b) pick another driver that had previously gone unwanted e.g Montoya

This initial registering phase also means that we can sort out any inactive managers rather easily with their team being passed on to someone else if they fail to bid within the first deadline

One thing you could do in the future, is let the managers create your own team and name; the same amount of $ for all the managers at the start; set short deadline for everything.

So you just give the drivers and engines to managers select from.

That`s a fab idea. I think you should be incharge of bidding. Anyone who pm`d me, please pm John your bids. John is now incharge of bidding.
