GPGSL S10: Season over! Thank you and goodbye. See you in S11 ||v||

Posted by GPGSL
Think the aggressive CC line for Classic Silverstone is a bit too aggressive. Too many incidents were happening at the chicane near the end of the lap. So because of this, I'm going to tun the race on the conservative CC line. Hopefully that should be enough for the race to be interesting without seeing too many incidents happening at the same corner.

Race had been run, and we have our winner. We also got to see at least one of the championships wrapped up as well. There was 1 retirement due to a mechanical issue, but asides from that the race was pretty clean. Coverage should be up in full over the next few days.

Given I can't secure the championship in one race, I don't like the sound of that... ;)
Probably is the Constructors Championship though.

Okay. Quail first. I'll take 10th, hopefully we can push on from there.

Secondly I think the season being shorter might spike interested parties initially as the length of this season, for whatever reason will surely put off any new potential members, which builds a vicious circle. Change is inevitable, but managing it in the short term, and making informed changes, will ensure the longevity of the series. I think the off season is the perfect opportunity to have a really good discussion in the community and think about changes going forward. I've been here long enough now and would love to see changes to the boost system so it might be the perfect opportunity to really shake things up and make it fresh and new.

Because the emoticon is angry as hell.

I'll surely take 2nd in the qualifying with all my rivals behind me. Now if only I can bring this home, it'd be a huge step to leaving the main series with a bang!

As for the coverage, I agree the qualifying coverage can be as brief as possible, be it only pictures or even just the results (as long as it's guaranteed that every driver had their two runs). The test drivers usually deserve a brief story to it, imo, if the RD has time for it. But in the end, it's always up to the respective RD.

I think my coverage of the FP and Q at Alicia's home was pretty neat; screenshots of all the drivers first run lap times and with the second run only pictures when drivers are improving positions. In a hour both sessions were done and posted online.

If the FP and Q is set to a minimum of 30 minutes, every driver will have his 2 runs because the settings in the csm mod is 100% correct.

Coverage is coming along nicely, however I'm unable to upload the first part at the moment as Photobucket seem to be down due to maintenance. Hopefully I can get it up once the site is back up, but I'm not sure how long I'll need to wait.

use imgur, photobucket sucks anyway

Can't use Imgur either since when I do try and upload an image, it doesn't upload at all. That's the main reason I went back to photobucket in the first place.

I checked the Photobucket website, and it seems to be up for me I think.
GPGSL Rd 17 British GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome to the penultimate round of the GPGSL. We are at Silverstone here today, but it’s not the modern day version of the track we are used to seeing. Instead, we have the race taking place on the classic layout. Anyways, this race is going to be a very important one for the championship contenders as whoever ends up in front will most likely have the advantage heading into the season finale. The cars can be heard returning from their warmup lap, so let’s head down to the grid as we get set for the race to get underway.

Weather Report

Here we go. The cars are all lined up, and we are set for a start. Warrington is on pole while alongside him is Maverick. Who will get the better start? We’ll find out very soon once the lights go out.

They’re off!

Warrington was able to convert pole into an early lead, but Maverick isn’t willing to let him get too far ahead.

They’re three wide on the run up Hangar Straight.

It’s Kittleson who emerges from the moment as the new race leader.

We have a battle starting to take place for the final positions inside the top 10.

Even further back in the field it’s pretty close.

O’Brien goes for a move on Ancevski.

He succeeds in getting ahead, and also manages to get ahead of Nell.

Kittleson takes the fastest lap.

Nell decides that he won’t take the loss of position lying down, and goes for a move on O’Brien.

And the Demon driver retakes the position back.

Pedersen and Moinet look to be in a battle of their own.

Legge is doing his best to keep ahead of Thomas.

By the time they get down to the final chicane however, Thomas is in position to make a move on the Snake.

Just ahead, it appears that Greenhalgh has locked up and spun.

Replay shows that Greenhalgh was attempting to make a move on Rodriguez.

Unfortunately for the MPR driver, he wasn’t able to get up to the inside to make his move, and as a result ended up making slight contact with the One, leading to Greenhalgh locking up and spinning out.

He manages to get going again, but his chance to score points is all but over now.

The timing shows how the top 10 have moved since the start.

Let’s take the chance to check out the current standings.

We have another yellow flag out, and it looks like one of the Snakes is off the road.

It’s Legge, and he won’t be too happy about what happened.

Replay shows that Legge had a slight lockup going into the corner, and ends up running off the track and spinning.

At least he gets to continue on, but he’ll feel pretty gutted to have thrown away his position like that.

It looks like O’Brien has lost a position since the last time we saw him.

At the chicane, Nell goes for a move on Moinet.

But isn’t able to get by the JHR.

Another yellow flag is out.

This looks to be the reason for it.

Worseling was attempting to make a move on O’Brien, but he ended up getting crossed up which led to him spinning.

He gets going again, but his attempted move would most likely have given everyone in the garage some worry since it could’ve put both cars out of the race.

Greenhalgh wastes no time in moving on by.

Kittleson’s lead looks to have increased over his teammate.

Jalving is now MPR’s only hope for points after Greenhalgh’s spin put him down the order.

Rodriguez has the best view of the battle ahead of him.

Now he has the view of the rear wing of the Demon in front of him.

Pedersen takes the fastest lap, and now finds himself on the back of the small train ahead of him.

Jalving is giving Maverick a hard time as he tries to get in closer.

The MPR driver goes for a move at the chicane.

He couldn’t make it work, and as a result has allowed Thomas to close in closer.

Thomas has a look up the inside down the straight.

He gets ahead of Jalving, and tries to make it 2 positions gained as he looks at making a move on Maverick.

Thomas couldn’t get far enough up the inside, so stays in behind Maverick. Behind him though, Pedersen and Rodriguez are applying their own pressure.

As we focus in on Rodriguez, let’s take a look at the standings. In the process, it looks like Copeman manages to get by the One driver.

Time for our first break. We’ll see you all again very soon.

Fantastic start of the race. I hope Chris can stand the pressure from Elleker who's getting nearer.
