Weird CSM Problem (Solved)

Hi Guys.

So I just installed GP4 on windows 7, following these steps:

1- Install the game
2- Install the official patch 9.6 (until here, it seems to be ok)
3- Install the GP4NoCD (Link: [www.mediafire.com] ), set the compatibility mod for the gp4.exe, as said in Lo2k's post above and then launch the game one time until you see the menu, then quit the game.
(at this step, you don't need the CD anymore)
4- Install GPxPatch and launch the game with GpxPatch.

The game is working fine after the install, so I downloaded Zaz Tools and installed it in my GP4 folder. However, every time I try to run CSM, It says I should install DirecX8 or higher or else the program won´t run, but I´m actually running direcx11.

Is there any way around this issue?

Yes: Uninstall Windows Vista! ;) (Ok, just kidding...)

Your installation order seems correct: Did you also set the compatibility mod with Windows XP SP3 on GpxPatch.exe and GP4.exe? Also check the box " run as administrator"
If yes, do the same with CSM.exe and try to launch...

Actually, it´s windows 7 that I´m using Excalibur. So the game is running fine, but CSM keeps showing me this same message...

Sorry, I was watching another thread about this issue at the same time with Windows Vista. Anyway, it was just a joke...

So, it seems that setting compatibility on the .exe programs and run as administrator don't fix the problem. Strange. Where did you download the Zaz Tools version? Is it the repack version or the original 1.26 Beta?
I don't use CSM but TSM and it works fine for me on Windows 7.

I don't know what is the version on GP4Forever but uninstall your installed version correctly and try this one. This is the one I use and the last I have installed, not the repack version (launch the .exe in compatibility mode and run as an administrator, to be sure...)

Have you tried installing Direct X 8 anyway? I know that doesn't sound right but I've had issues with old games in the past not recognising newer versions of Direct X but when I installed the version it suggested - whilst still keeping the newer version in tact - it worked fine.

The version from Gp4forever if you read carefully the tutorial it states to install an original Zaz tool Installer
then put repack version, else it will not work.

Read this tutorial that i created: [www.grandprixgames.org]

This thing is nearly the same for Windows 7 and 8.1

Hi everybody

I made a new full-reinstall Gp4 and i'd properly deleted and cleaned registry. After the installation of Zaz Tools, when i'm launching CSM, i've immediately a message "CSMGUI126 stopped working" and the program is closed.

Has someone an idea about this issue ?

Thanks

Note: my PC runs under Win10
