I would be interested about a table where you can see which horsepower is which car power value in the performance file. Can somebody help me please?

Yes, you shouldn't need the Belini patch anymore. To guarantee this, select "Power and grip" for Player car performance team dependent.

From the documentation:

Player master grip

The player master grip is a single value read from a performance text file. This patch is the same as applied by Belini's BHP/Grip tool, part of the Belini Team Career package. It can be specified under a section called [Player] using a key named Grip. The default value is 16384. It works independently from player car performance team dependent setting.

For example:

[Player]
Grip=17500

Great thanks!

I also saw the lines required for the individual power values by driver. Is all of this just entered at the bottom of the performance file being used?

Bottom, middle or top doesn't matter. Each section can be anywhere.

The texture sections can be moved to a different file now if you want, for example tyres.ini in the GP4 directory. This file can then be specified in gpxset.ini like this:

[TyreManager]
PatchTextures=1
PatchRimColors=1
PatchArmColors=1
Path=tyres.ini

I tried to play with the new options and i update the 1991 performance for v4.43

From the performance side, nothing to say. Everything works great and i see a lot of AI battles. Some mistakes but it's a phoenix track issue.
At the moment i just complete the Phoenix GP perfomance.txt, by using the % of running laps done by each driver (so less laps, more higher failure value: 0% of race = 65000; 50% of race =32250 100% of race = 0%). I was think that the failure chances were less random and more accurate. I still think they're random. But here the results to explain better the whole situation.

30% lenght race (24 laps)

DNF drivers

Driver        Causes           Failure Prob.     LAPS

Patrese      accident          26000               0
Gachot       accident          13000               3
Bayley       water leak        55250               7
Alesi        accident          13650               9
Mansell      accident          38525               9
Capelli      transmission      32500              12
Blundell     accident          32975              13
Guglielmin   transmission      38925              17
Morbidelli   transmission      52975              20
Moreno       engine            26000              21
Bergher      water leak        38235              21
De Cesaris   engine            65000              23

Checkered flag drivers with failure points

Driver       Failure Prob.
Pirro        52875
Letho        55250
Brundle      9500
Hakkinen     17500
Martini      13000

If for Brundle, Martini, Hakkinen failure chances were few, how it's possible that De Cearis with max failure rate retire himself so late? Shouldn't be the opposite thing? Or retirements on GP4 even with new feature are still random?
Or this works better on a 100% lenght race? I hope to get some kindly answers. :-)

PS: since player master grip is avaible, it's the same for failure chances?

Hi guys.

i get an Virus message from Avira when i want to install the new version. It also says not enough resources availbe to run the program.

Avira says its a HEUR/APC (Cloud) whatever that means lol. Same happens with 4.42

I could run the earlier versions though for some reason. I am on Windows 7 Home Premium if that matters :P

thanks

@Rot Teufel: See this thread for how the failures are calculated. Note that for a 30% race the chance of failure is 100% at failure probability 54613. Also, the chance of failure is independent of when (in which lap and which part of the lap) the failure occurs, which is totally random. The new feature doesn't change this at all, it only makes the failure probability car specific. There is no master failure probability.

@alonso0506: That is a false positive. The anti-virus software assumes it's malware or a virus based on some heuristic, like the fact that it's upx compressed, or that it hijacks an executable (GP4.exe). But I can assure you it's not a virus and you can safely install it.

thanks, that's explain a lot and why old performance 1991 team failure works better.

First, thank you very much Rene for updating GPxPatch :-)

I have a questions regarding the Tyre Brand Bitmaps for GPxSat. Currently in the GPxPatch menu we can select two bitmaps, for example in 2001 Bridgestone and Michelin. However, for McLaren we have a tird option of tyres with specific rims, how can I assign them also the Bridgestone logo for the TVStyle? Thank you in advance.

If you specify the tyre textures (wheel and tread), then the [Tyres] section in the performance file is only used for GPxSAT, so you can simply change the tyre for McLaren there from 2 to 0 (or 2 to 1).
Otherwise, if you keep the McLaren tyre selection at 2, you can specify the tyre type for each mode in gpxsat.ini. E.g. for Classic:

[Classic]
Type1=classic_b.tga
Type2=classic_m.tga
Type3=classic_b.tga

Is it possible to combine tyre treads and sidewalls any way I want without getting white tyres now? I remember that using 2013 Pirelli tyres sidewalls with 1997 Goodyear tyres treads was leading to white sidewalls. This problem still occured with GPxPatch 4.30a I think, but I haven't tried it with GPxPatch 4.43 yet.

I'd say give it a try :) I've fixed several problems, but I can't guarantee it will work now.

Hi René,

I've got a question regarding the performance...

I'm driving a championship season in Hotseat-mode with 5 drivers in pro difficulty.
Currently I'm at Malaysia and edited the performance file so that everything is close at the front of the field ("My hotseat" cars have a performance of 14900, both Mercedes, which are the strongest, 14950). I did not add a Player Master Grip to the perfomance file...
I set the pole with Bottas at 1:38.309min, just 0.1s in front of Hamilton which is AI. All other cars I drive did nearly the same time.

These are the facts - now my problem:
When I start the race from pole it's so hard to keep the cars behind me, which are "my" cars. The Ai cars battle very hard but I can keep their pace.
But when "my" other cars overtake me they get away with laptimes of 1:36:305 and I loose about 3 seconds per lap. But only the other "hotseat" cars do perform like that.
I tried it in different modes in GPXpatch like "old behaviour", "power only" and "power and grip" - all the same! I drive my 1:39:xxx times, due to more fuel at the start of the race, and the other four go straight away...

Any idea what this could be or how I can get that these cars behave like the AI when not driven by me?

Regards
Lutz

That's a tough question, and I don't have an immediate answer. You can create an issue for it if you want.

Are you using your own car setups?

The Hotseat cars, when driven by the AI, will (I believe) use whatever car setup you have been using.

If you've got a really good setup, then the hotseat AI will be really fast with it.
