GPG Nations Cup S5 R17 - Off-season

Posted by GPG_Nations_Cup
Since there has been no mentioning of who will be running Rd 16, I've decided that I'll be running it. Not sure which version of Mexico I'll be needing to download though.

Tumyeto's update one probably is best [www.grandprixgames.org]

Tried the link, and it says that the file is not available to download.

Qualifying has been run and we have our pole sitter. Coverage should hopefully be up by tonight.

Great news Greg and again thank you. Anxious to see how it pans out. :-)

The Final Results

Congratulations to Daly Tyrson and Team Ireland, our pole sitter for Rd 16.

(Canada and Scotland will not be taking part in the race)

Team China

12th. Not too bad despite not having much boost at our disposal. With Wales and Germany at the front of the field, it makes our chances of keeping on touch for the title slim. As long as the lead doesn't go out to 15pts or more we'll still be in the fight right up to the end (14pts is the max a team can score by taking the win+pole+fastest lap).

Horrendous..... but, from memory, no boost was allocated. Season going down the toilet for France......

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
4th, I'll take that.

Way better than expected

Team Ireland

That's a great result for Ireland. We start on front row for the Mexican GP. Hopefully we have a great race and we should be happy.

Not expecting much here this round.

Rumours behind-the-scenes however suggest that the management behind Team Japan may be looking at jumping into a new SE Asian team. Some say the far south group of islands is a place of growth, & the team may be looking to get in on the action. No news yet however, but perhaps we'll need to watch this space

GPG Nations Cup Rd 16 Mexican GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome back to Mexico City as we get set for the start of Rd 16. Tyrson is on pole here today, but will have his work cut out if he is to keep with the front runners. The main focus however is on our championship contenders. Team Wales leads by 6pts, and should China fail to score and Wales scores 9 or more points, it’ll put the lead out to 15pts and should that happen, it’ll mean Wales cannot be beaten for the title. Anyways, the cars can be heard returning from the warmup lap, so let’s head trackside for the race start.

Weather Report

Here we go. The cars are all lined up, and we are set for a start. Tyrson is pole, and alongside him sits Silva. When the lights go out, it’s go time.

They’re off!

Grimaldi makes the best start and ends up in the lead after the first few corners.

The pack looks quite close to each other.

Grimaldi takes the fastest lap as Tyrson goes for a move on Silva.

Further back, De Boer is making a move on Pryce.

Even further back, Tung makes a move on Nikolov and succeeds in getting ahead.

Rodriguez won’t be too happy being down in 19th.

Grimaldi still leads, but Silva is slowly closing in on him.

McGregor and Hatfield go side by side.

De Boer succeeds in getting by Pryce.

That now leaves Pryce having to defend from Ancevski.

As we ride onboard with Kuei, let’s check out the standings. We can also see how the top 10 have moved since the start.

Nikolov is still keeping in touch with Tung.

Ancevski has managed to get ahead of Pryce, but the move isn’t successful quite yet.

Meanwhile, further back in the field Tafuro is right behind both Girard and Silvestre. This could end badly for the three drivers.

Silvestre succeeds in staying ahead of Girard, who in turns stays ahead of Tafuro.

Tafuro will need to watch out for the cars behind him as they would’ve closed in when he attempted his passing move on Girard.

Pryce wants to gain the position back from Ancevski.

He couldn’t get back ahead, and now Kuei has a chance to make a move.

Unseen by the cameras, Silva has managed to get ahead of Grimaldi for the race lead.

It looks like Kuei was successful in getting by Pryce.

Not much in it between Tyrson and Kederer. For the German to stay in title contention, he has to finish on the podium here today and hope Pryce doesn’t get the points he needs to be unbeatable for the title.

Pryce goes for a move on Kuei, and behind them McGregor goes for a move on Hatfield.

Both moves were successful.

However, McGregor gets back ahead and Kuei finds herself under pressure.

But no, Hatfield does indeed manage to make his move on McGregor stick.

Keranen has been having a quiet race so far, but doesn’t have much space between himself and Girard.

As for Girard, he finds himself defending from Cremasco.

Tafuro goes for a move on Silvestre up the inside.

Further back, Ana has managed to get ahead of Rodriguez.

Kederer has managed to get ahead of Tyrson.

This isn’t good for Ana.

He gets going again.

Silvestre goes for a move on Keranen. It would seem Keranen managed to get ahead prior to the first corner.

Keranen tries again to make his move stick on Silvestre.

The battle for the top 10 spots is pretty close.

As we ride onboard with Tung, let’s check out the standings.

Time for our first break of the coverage. We hope to be back again very soon.

Yeah! P1, baby! :)
