Team China

11th. Looks like Cheng will be starting from midfield. It's going to be a tough race for him, and with all 3 of his closest rivals ahead of him it means he'll need to get ahead of them all to have any chance of increasing the championship lead.

Race has been run, and we have a winner. There was a nail-biting finish to the race for the lead, in what I believe is now the smallest margin between 1st and 2nd at the line (if anyone knows the current record for smallest win margin, please say what it is). Will be starting on editing the screens for the coverage pretty soon, so I may have part 1 up by later tonight.

Nah, a lot of points spent on 12th starting position. We expect a podium finish, so nothing less is acceptable.

Team Ireland

We knew that coming here we might have a difficult weekend finishing outside Top 10, but right now it seems we're under pressure from others. However, for the race it's going to be difficult finishing on points but hopefully if we may have a chance then we go for it.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 11 German GP Official Qualifying Result

GPG Nations Cup Rd 11 German GP – Race Day

Part 1

Welcome back to our coverage of Rd 11 of the GPG Nations Cup. We had qualifying yesterday, in which we saw Maikel De Boer and Team Netherlands take pole position. We also saw 3 of the top 4 in the championship all qualify inside the top 10, so we may see a change in regards to the championship lead. So, the cars can be heard returning from the warmup lap, so let’s head trackside as we prepare for the start of the race.

Weather Report

The cars are all lined up on the grid, which means we’re now ready for a start. De Boer is on pole, and has Cremasco alongside him. When the lights are out, it’s go time.

They’re off!

Kederer is on the move as he looks for a move on Cremasco.

Also on the move is Pryce as he goes for a passing move on De Boer.

Kederer tries again to get by Cremasco, while behind him both Grimaldi and Tafuro end up locking up.

Kederer gets ahead of Cremasco, and both Grimaldi and Tafuro manage to stay on the track. Further back, Girard goes for a move on Tung.

Nikolov has a look up the inside of Kuei.

The Bulgarian managed to get ahead, while ahead of him it looks like a train is forming.

Tung has a look up the inside of Briere but isn’t able to get by.

That allows Nikolov to close in on him.

Pryce sets the fastest lap.

McGregor looks to be in serious trouble as he has Hatfield, Tyrson and Ancevski on his rear.

Hatfield gets ahead of McGregor, leaving the Australian to defend from the others.

Pryce has lost the lead to De Boer.

Replay shows that De Boer managed to get ahead at the chicane.

Briere has a look up the inside of Grimaldi.

And he succeeds in getting ahead.

Kuei has managed to regain the position back from Nikolov.

Grimaldi is under attack from Tung.

He manages to keep the Chinese driver behind him.

Coulthard is closing in on Silvestre.

As Coulthard has a look up the inside down the straight, the timing shows how the top 10 have moved since race start.

Coulthard succeeds in getting ahead of Silvestre.

Ana currently sits in last position. He’ll be hoping that he can make it through to the end of the race.

Tung and Grimaldi continue their battle.

And it’s Tung who wins out.

Kuei looks to be taking advantage of Grimaldi’s pace coming out of the chicane, and succeeds in getting by in the next corner.

Nikolov is next in line to have a chance at Grimaldi’s position.

Tafuro looks to have gotten by Cremasco.

The gap between Pryce and Kederer is getting smaller.

As Cremasco attempts to regain his position from Tafuro, we see that a yellow flag is out.

Here’s the reason why the yellow is out. Hatfield has gone off and hit the wall.

We see that Cremasco succeeded in getting back ahead of Tafuro.

Ancevski has managed to get ahead of McGregor.

Coulthard also manages to get ahead. It seems that McGregor is struggling for pace here today and he won’t be too happy about it.

Rodriguez now has a chance to get by McGregor.

And he succeeds in getting by.

Keranen is doing quite well at the current moment as he sits a couple positions away from the points.

Cremasco now has the fastest lap.

Kederer is now up to 2nd.

McGregor has lost another position to Silvestre and is now at risk of losing yet another position to Ana.

Ana gets by McGregor.

Kederer takes the fastest lap.

Tyrson looks to be closing in on Ihara, and he manages to get ahead in the chicane.

It’s on between Coulthard and Ancevski.

Coulthard succeeds in getting ahead, leaving Ancevski to watch out for Rodriguez.

McGregor has pulled off to the side of the track, and is out of the race thanks to Throttle Failure. Now we know why McGregor was struggling for pace.

Let’s check out the current standings as we focus in on De Boer.

Time for us to take a break. We’ll be back again soon with more of the coverage.

Pleased that Tommy managed to take the lead, but a shame not to be able to hold it but not surprising given we're not using 100% boost. Hoping to hang onto that podium position.

We're paying that lack of boost badly but if we manage to capitalise on others' failures then we may just save this race.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps

Pretty good start for us, making some overtakes on our road to top 10, it won't be easy I think. Hope part 2 goes very successfully.
