One week on, and since we got no new answers in the last 24 hours, I guess results are due. First, the "getting to know you" section of the survey.

1. Where do you live? (84 answered)
17.9% Germany
13.1% Italy
11.9% United Kingdom
8.3% Australia
8.3% France
7.1% Argentina
6.0% Brazil
3.6% Sweden
2.4% Canada, Finland, Hungary, South Africa and United Arab Emirates
1.2% Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Greece, Malaysia, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Venezuela
That's 69% Europeans. One other user said "Asia", with no mention of country, while another answered "Here". I'd be honored to visit the Republic of Here any time soon.

2. How old are you? (104 answered)
36.5% 20-29 years old
23.1% 30-39 years old
17.3% 40-49 years old
12.5% 50-59 years old
6.7% 19 years old or less
3.8% 60 years old or more

3. How often do you follow Formula 1? (102 answered)
Watching qualifying and races on TV
77.0% always
18.0% frequently
3.0% never
2.0% occasionally
A few users mentioned losing interest in F1 in the last few years.

Reading news (online or printed)
70.3% always
24.2% frequently
5.5% occasionally

Watching practice sessions on TV
31.5% frequently
30.4% occasionally
29.3% always
8.7% never

Watching specialized TV shows
37.5% occasionally
29.5% frequently
17.0% always
15.9% never

Attending race weekends in my country / nearest race
39.5% occasionally
34.9% never
18.6% always
7.0% frequently
That's a lot of "never" right here. Lack of interest in modern F1? High ticket prices? Distance?

4. Which other categories do you follow? (89 answered - users could pick more than one option)
47.2% MotoGP
42.7% Formula E
40.4% IndyCar
40.4% Feeder series (GP2, GP3, F3, F4, Indy Lights, WSR, and others)
29.2% World Endurance Championship (WEC)
27.0% Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM)
24.7% World Touring Car Championship (WTCC)
22.5% World Rally Championship (WRC)
15.7% NASCAR
National stock car series were also mentioned: BTCC, V8 Supercars, Stock Car Brasil, TC2000. Superbikes and Auto GP also received mentions. Also, no surprise NASCAR is this low considering question 1.

5. How often do you play Grand Prix 4? (103 answered)
42.7% More than once a week
25.2% Every week
18.4% Every month
13.6% Less than once a month

6. Which game mode do you play the most in Grand Prix 4? (104 answered)
40.4% Non-Championship Race
25.0% Quick Race
24.0% Championship Season
9.6% Free Practice
1.0% Quick Laps
"If you race without qualifying first, you will have to start at the back of the grid."

7. Do you play Grand Prix 4 more often than normal in F1 race weekends? (98 answered)
55.1% No
44.9% Yes

8. Do you play other racing games/sims? (76 answered - users could pick more than one option)
47.4% Codemasters' F1 games
32.9% rFactor
26.3% Grand Prix 3
13.2% Assetto Corsa
And many many others. F1 Challenge 99-02, Grand Prix Legends, GTR 2, iRacing, Project Cars the most frequent among the rest.

9. What is your preferred controller input? (104 answered)
43.3% Keyboard
39.4% Steering wheel
17.3% Gamepad / joystick
I wonder which other racing games have more keyboard players than wheel players. Now let me check that cc-line again...

So that's the first page of results, the second one will follow shortly.

And here's page two...

10. Whick kind of mods/add-ons do you use in your Grand Prix 4? (103 answered - users could pick more than one option)
69.9% Full season mods
68.0% Miscellaneous graphics (TV displays, texture updates, etc.)
67.0% Standalone tracks
57.3% Full season trackpacks
49.5% Standalone cars and helmets
39.8% Car engine sounds
Does that mean that half the users don't download individual cars, waiting for them to be compiled within mods instead? Yet standalone tracks surpass season trackpacks. Users also mentioned in this question performance files, physics files, GPaedia, among others.

11. Which categories/seaons interest you in Grand Prix 4 modding? (102 answered - users could pick more than one option)
73.5% Current Formula 1 season
72.5% Formula 1 (2000-2014)
60.8% Formula 1 (1980-1999)
31.4% Other single seater series (IndyCar, GP2, GP3, Formula E, and others)
24.5% Formula 1 (1950-1979)
17.6% Touring car series (DTM, WTCC, NASCAR and others)
Almost 30% of the users don't care about modern F1 mods. I was expecting something lower.

12. How important do you consider these factors in a Grand Prix 4 mod/add-on? (102 answered)
Accuracy (similarity to real counterpart)
62.2% Very important
34.7% Important
3.1% Not very important

Visual quality (detailed models, high quality textures)
61.4% Very important
34.7% Important
4.0% Not very important

System performance (runs well on low-spec computers)
34.0% Very important
33.0% Important
21.6% Not very important
11.3% Not important at all

Early availability (i.e., as soon as the real counterpart is unveiled)
43.4% Not very important
36.4% Important
15.2% Very important
5.1% Not important at all

Origin (if it's built from scratch or converted from another game)
31.6% Not important at all
26.5% Important
25.5% Not very important
16.3% Very important

Personally, I am very relieved by these results, meaning that the majority of the community values high-quality works (accuracy and visual quality). Sometimes we are led to believe that people will download and praise anything that says "2015" on it, so again, it's a relief.

13. What are you preferred websites for searching Grand Prix 4 mods/add-ons? (101 answered - users could pick more than one option)
98.0% grandprixgames.org
66.3% gp4central.com
66.3% gp4db.com
55.4% gp4forever.com
37.6% realgpx.com
Biased result of course, since I didn't post the survey link in any other forum. Users also mentioned gpgames.eu, GP4 Italia, GP4-Argentina, Sim Racing World, GP4 Facile, and others.

14. Are you a Grand Prix 4 modder? (101 answered)
58.4% No
41.6% Yes
One answer to divide them all - no, wait, that's question 15, just below.

15. Would you give money payments to Grand Prix 4 modders? (102 answered)
50.0% No
29.4% Yes, if there is an additional benefit to paying (for example, fully assembled season mod)
20.6% Yes, it's a form of recognition for their work
That's the divide - exactly half the users aren't willing to pay for any kind of GP4 content. Interesting huh?

That ends page 2. Page 3 is the most dangerous of them all, with questions specific to F1virtual. It's coming not so shortly (probably tomorrow).

Q3: Attending F1 races in my nearest country:
I would love to go to a race, but just don't have the money quite yet. Maybe if there was a race in my home town ;) Which I know is never going to happen.

Q15:
As I said, not enough money atm, possibly in around 6-7 years I would answer this yes

that's all the comments I have on the voting so far. Would love to see part 3 and your next track projects!

A bit surprised that so many play Codemasters' F1 games.

On 10), I do download individual cars/helmets, just didn't tick it as I do the mod compilation myself, means I always have full season mods ;)

Some mods
F1 1996 | F1 2002 | F1 2007 | F1 2011 | F1 2013 | F1 2015 | F1 2018
Veery nice to see these results. I'm most interested in part 3 as that involves the most questions about track making.

That's 69% Europeans. One other user said "Asia", with no mention of country, while another answered "Here". I'd be honored to visit the Republic of Here any time soon.

That has Vader written all over it, haha. (j/k) :-)
These results are null and void...I lied about my age :-)

wow, never think about that joke formula has so many followers... :( Joke circuits, fan boost, cars unable to do more than 20km and the stupid 2015 15 day tests rules... :( Poor motorsport...
this means that Agag is a good smoke seller* even with the departure of Enrique BaƱuelos de Castro (the main moneylender) and some financial issues.
And that is really a shame seen today Agag spoke about new batteries and will introduce their delelop freedom only at the 3rd future year... (N)

* ops, Agag doesn't sell smoke, at least dust ;)

well, not everyone has the possibility/space to use always the steering wheel. Anyway i'm able to drive on some sim (rF, GTR2) touring cars with keyboard enough good to have fun with AI.

Well now i'll wait the third page of poll. :)

My workthread with all RELEASED and WIP stuff
