Hello,

today GP4 crashed for about 10 times...the last log folows now - who can help?

Before the log, here some info about the version I play:

2014 Laptop Edition from GP4 Central, tracks added via GPxTrack, WIN7

Don't use "all", it's a recipe for crashes. Try using "0".

It was set to "All", changed it yesterday to "0" and it worked fine...

The crash happens in GP4 code that wants to set the volume on a DirectSound buffer, which is null. Looks like this code is not thread-safe then.

So your problem appeared again though using "0"? Which track(s), car(s) or mod(s) are you using then? Maybe there is the problem.
No, the Problem didn't appear due to the fact that I didn't Play ;-)

I just wanted to know what René exactly meant?? I didn't understand his post...
if i understand René correct it means, that your soundcard won't work properly for GP4. Maybe you have to update your soundcard drivers
Ah...I'll try it tonight...

Thanks to Facebook I'll get a 'new' old PC tonight that runs XP from a friend...going to install GP4 there and nothing else.

Should help me reducing the trouble...

I mean that setting CPU to "0" solving the problem indicates that the sound code does not properly support multiple CPU's/cores. You can ignore me if you don't understand it, I mainly mentioned it here for future reference.

good to know, thank you for the explanation René, didn't knew that it was sound coded for CPU 0 aswell :)
