Such a Noob question but I am new to GP4...well haven't played it for 10 years...

I have reloaded the original game, nothing else downloaded or added, all completely original with patch and update 4.23. How do I adjust the cars and drivers performance (hopefully without downloading anything)??

Cheers,
Bill

If you're using GPxPatch 4.23 like you said, you can bring in a performance txt file, not sure if someone has one for 2001 available. I can't remember which tab in GPx it is but one of them has a performance file you can tick and select the txt file and that should work.

Here is the one posted elsewhere on this site for 2001. It'll be a tiny download. That's the one I meant in the next post...;-)

all you have to do is download a perf file for 2001- Gitanes work here: [www.4shared.com] - (only 25Kb!) and paste the txt files into the gpxdata folder, then select it in gpxpatch.

Ahh thanks guys @ Foreverk that has worked a treat!

I have been adjusting the values in the "driver" settings...the ones in brackets below ( ). I'm assuming the 1st two "Performance" parameters are engine power? but does anyone know what the other values are???

Cheers,Bill

[Team #07]
Name=sauber,petronas
Performance=825,835,7988
First Driver=16,nick heidfeld,(15905),448,(15686),249
Second Driver=17,kimi raikkonen,(15816),513,(15504),236

Second Driver=17,kimi raikkonen,(15816),513,(15504),236

Using sauber as an example:

Performance
825 = Car race power
835 = Car qualy power
7988 = Car reliability (higher means more chance of a reliability failure)

Nick Heidfeld
15905 = race grip
448 = race variance
15686 = qualy grip
249 = qualy variance

The "variance" is a parameter that GP4 uses to create some variety to performances. GP4 will pick a number between 0 and "variance", and add that number to the grip value. So, in this example, Nick Heidfeld will have a race grip value of anything from 15905 to 16353.
