Can anyone help me upgrade my GP4?

Hi All fellow GP4 Enthusiasts,
I purchased the original GP3 in 1997 and then the original GP4 in 2002, and have been driving since then, but have only recently come accross this website and the numerous WizKid contributions to upgrading GP4. I would really like to be racing on the 2013 tracks with 2013 cars and drivers, and have tried installing the mod 2013, but honestly, I have no clue as to how to open and use the downloaded files and utilities.
I would GREATLY appreciate someone's help PLEASE?

You need to install:

the latest GP4 patch - 9.6
GPxPatch
ZAZ Tools

And you are ready to go!
After downloading this stuff you only need to install yiur stuff which is done for about 2 or 3 clicks.

The old classics will be always better than the newest games.

Firstly welcome to the best GP4 site around!

CSM is a program which can be used to launch all-in-one mods;

Follow these simple steps below to use it!

1. BACK-UP EVERYTHING!
2. Install Official patch and decrypted exe (Found here) IN THAT ORDER!
3. Install GPxPatch 4.21 (Found here)
4. Install ZAZ tools (Click here)

Now you have the basics ready for your mods Simply google "gp4 csm mod" and the year you're after, download the .cuh file, open it in CSM, and click play! The community have expanded brilliantly over the years, and now you can find mods for pretty much every season from the last 30 years

As for a 2013 mod, it's still a Work In Progress I believe, but it can't be far off completion.

Everything you need for 2013 can be found in this website, but not in a mod.

You'll have to load it manualy with wadupdater.

A 2013 CSM mod has now been released, found here.

You're a Super Star !!! Really appreciate your step-by-step guidance ! Everything looked like a MAZE to me at first; hence your instruction set being exactly what I needed. Im busy downloading all the files you so kindly linked for me into my original GP4 folder and will go ahead unzipping them shortly. Will let you know what the outcome is.

I cant run the nocd .exe file because a file bink32.dll cannot be found. The message advises me to re-install......I cant find an exe file that will now uninstall GP4.
I must sound like a serious moron!

Hi guys

I also recently re-installed GP4 to my HD. The problem I seem to have is a compatibility issue with windows 8 x86.
I installed the game as normal, then tried to start if from the CD at the end of the installation. The screen got stuck on a black screen.

I then browsed this forum to find I had to alter the graphics config file. But since it didn't start the first time, I don't get a graphics config file.

What do I have to do in order for it to work properly?

This is how I got it to work on Win8:

-Install the game from the CD. Don't use the suggestet path, otherwise you'll most likely get problems later with CSM. Best is to create a new directory on your HD, e.g. C:\Games\GP4.
-Install the official patch 9.6
-Install the noCD GP4.exe (the one for 1.02)
-Install GpxPatch 4.21
-Set compability to WinXP SP2/3 for the noCD GP4.exe and the gpxpatch.exe, and run both as Admin
-Run the game, and save the settings when you quit it.
-Install Zaz Tools 1.26. You can ignore the message "unable to retrieve list", go to File -> Options and untick "Auto Update". The servers are down, that's why the message appears.

I haven't tried it on Windows 8 myself, but it should be something like:

Right click on GP4.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> Run in XP SP3

Hi to all...

Finaly got GP4 working on my Vista, took me a lot of sweat and tears but there is one problem. Put the mod of " f1 1997 mod "," 1988 F1 Championship Mod from the Author: Tony " in to the CSM 1.26, started the game and all the cars are white except for the drivers helmets, hands, cockpit and steering wheel...

...can someone tell me why this is happening... because the mod from " GPGSL-S8-2012 Test Drivers v9 " and " GPGSL-S8-2012 Race Drivers v9 " works alright and I'm doing the same thing as for the previous ones.

I'm new in this game, so is there someone who can help me :' ...

... and another question, where can I find full mods for GP4... for GP3 there are a lot but not for GP4 or am I wrong !

must only find out, why the tracks don't change if I put a mod in the game... only the tracknames in the game change but not the track itself... bummer !!!

and Tobi, I will have a look at those links... if there are more like DTM, LMS or other mods than F1 just tell me !

Hi - i know this is an old thread, but i am new to modding gp4, and just got that 2013 v2.0 mod, which has the CUH and CMU files - do i need to do anything with the cmu file?

i have since rn CSM and installed the carset/update CUH file and go to the game but if i go to start a race, the game crashes back to desktop and i get an error log

the error log, is well i dont really know how to interpret it, but generally look through it for any alarms and i notice this at the bottom, can you tell me please how i rectify this?
