GP3 and GP3 2000 were based on direct 3d, and i suppose GP4 will be no different , but open gl is a little faster than direct 3d, it would be nice if GP4 used both. What u guys think?

depends, i think open GL was mainly supported by the 3dfx cards and dierect 3d by nvidia. ( i could be wrong tho)

with 3dfx being nomore, i expect direct3d to be the way forward,

Why not both? The out-dated half-life engine supports both, why should GP4?

3dfx used its own verison of open gl called glide. so now 3dfx is gone, so is glide, but open gl is very much alive

ellis2kx,

i agree with LS,i reckon GP4 wont support hardware mode, as the minimum spec pc will proably range from a 450Mhz pc onwards, most ppl will have some sort of graphics card that supports hardware mode. 8mb will prob be the min tho.
