Klaus's ReleaseThread

This thread contains all my small releases, like tools, tutorials, etc.
Here we go:

--> Image Calculator for GP4Builder:
A simple Excel worksheet to calculate the right size of a picture in GP4Builder
to get the right distances in game, finally. Esspecially before making a real track
it's necessary to convert an aerial photo of a track to the right size in GP4Builder.

--> Download here!

--> Guide: 'How To Fix Invisible Objects':
A guide which contains all reasons for an object not beeing displayed in game
and how to fix that with GP4Builder.

--> Here you go!

--> Guide: 'How To Move Tracks To Other Slots':
A guide for newbies. It explains how to change the trackorder in GP4, e.g. if you
want to drive Suzuka as the 1st race of the season. The guide also explaines in
part II how to delete a defined fix .wad-name of a .dat with GP4Builder.

--> Have a look!

--> Krombacher Intro 1999:
This is especially something for the german GP4-fans. I converted the old
Krombacher Intro in 1999 to bink so that we can use it as GP4-intro. Old F1-fans
will love this sound!

--> Watch here!

--> Official F1-Intro 2009 - 2011: *new*
The Formula 1 has got an official intro made by the FIA. Here we go for a
GP4 download. The 2012er-version will follow soon.

--> Klick here!

--> Krombacher Intro 1999 long version: *new*
I converted the old Krombacher intro on RTL in 1999 (see short-version above) to bink
so that we can use it as GP4-intro. This is the long version of the video above. Old
F1-fans will love this sound!

--> See this for download!

--> ChampCar Intro: *new*
In 2007 Eurosport made a great trailer for the ChampCar WorldSeries. It is on of the
best trailers I have ever seen. I converted it to bink, so that we can use it as an intro
for GP4.

--> Look at this!

Thanks, I never knew for sure exactly which pixel is included in the Google Maps ruler and which is not, so I kind of trial & errored my way through every time.

On the other hand, the calc itself to do is really simple and there is a great F1Virtual tutorial on it.

[f1virtual.blogspot.hu]

I learnt it from there and I can't be thankful enough for it.

But I also like your calculator too, mainly for making it clear for me how the GMaps ruler handles the pixels.

Thanks, again. :-)

Btw, Sears Point (or Infineon Raceway) is part of my America Pack, and a usual beta should be released soon.

It looks neat. And I was reading object visibility guide yesterday and was surprised to see it was quite extensive...
Well done and keep doing such guides, they are great.

Note : I clicked on the big bold underlined guide title, thinking it was the link to the guide...but it wasn't as the link is the little blue one below. Maybe making titles direct link to guides would be more intuitive for other people too

Great guides, they should be included in the GP4FAQ thread.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?

Thanks for your kind words :-).

I modified the first post. Now the big title and the blue line at the bottom of every release are the links. Thanks to Lo2k for this suggestion.
I wished it would be possible to make links in black colour too...

Of course you are allowed to add my guides to every list at will ;-). It would be great.

They are better in dark blue but if you want them black, you can simply use color tags INSIDE the url tags like this :
|url=adress||color=black|mytitle|/color||/url|

Thanks Laurent. I tried it at the outside of the |URL| brackets, now it works.

But I will leave them as they are for now. You have convinced me, that blue isn't that bad here ;-).

Sauber, ich hoffe es gefällt dir ;-).
Ich bin gerade dabei meine alten aufgenommenen Rennen zu digitalisieren. Dann gibt's hoffentlich noch weitere Intros ;-). Mehr News gibt's bald.

At the moment I'm about to digitise my old on VHS recorded races. So hopefully additional intro-stuff will follow ;-). More news soon.

@ hasbriale:
I just watched the Star Sports intros. Would be great to have them ;-). I think we should release as much good stuff as we can, so that everybody can chosse what they like most ;-).

@ samson:
Was meinst du genau mit '2003er Intro machen' ;-)? Ich hab das offizielle 2003er F1-Intro gerade in Vorbereitung zum Release. Das gefällt mir aber bei weitem nicht so gut, wie die anderen Videos ;-).

What do you mean exactly by 'making a 2003er intro'? The official 2003 F1-intro is in preparation for release at the moment, but to be honest I don't like it that much as the other videos ;-).

EDIT: Hier wird ja schneller bearbeitet, als ich schreiben kann xD. Ich hab das Video auf meiner Liste aufgenommen ;-). Dürfte demnächst in Haus flattern ^^

Does anyone have the 'How To Move Tracks To Other Slots' guide from Klaus? It can be sometimes very useful for the newcomers for the game as can be seen there
