Please help me. 100% CPU usage during GP4

Hi guys.
When i play GP4 or even GP3 my CPU usage goes up to 100%.
I play both type of game;original game and with patches.
I play game with lowest resolution.
My system information:
Windows XP Pro SP2
Pentium 4 CPU 2.00 GHz
256 MB of RAM
64 MB VGA ATI RADEON 7000/RADEON VE Family
I am very hungry to play GP4,Please help me.

hehehe ... I've had a PC with the same video controller, only it was:

AMD Athlon XP 2.0 (similar to an Intel PIII same clock), this Radeon VE 7000 and 512MB RAM. with this PC configuration, the PO is right there close to it, will not change ... what can be done is to increase the amount of RAM

Increase the ram, see if your mobo can take a pci-e card, or get an agp card with 512mb or ram on board.

Motherboard have three slot for RAM(DDR).so i want to put another 256 MB RAM next to it.
Is it enough.

whack as much ram in it as you can, I found changing rez in game helped my cpu

Ram is cheap, get two x 512MB.

I increase RAM to 512 MB by puting another 256 MB RAM but CPU usage still is 100%.
Average PO during GP4 race was about 80 and maximum PO was about 105-110.
My RAM is SDRAM not DDR and i could not find 512 MB SDRAM and some said dont use 3 RAM slot in same time.
Is still any way to decrease CPU usage?

Well, there's nothing wrong about a cpu usage of 100%. Your average PO is 80% with a peak of 110 so your game should be totally fluid and running smoothly. If it's just about what task-manager says about cpu usage but you actually don't have any kind of stuttering in the game there's no problem at all.

No, the cpu is always marketed under its actual stress rate. Hence overclocking can be enabled on some cpu's. However, temperature can become a problem if you push the cpu, and when a cpu overheats the computer usually shuts down. Having a graphics card with at least 256MB of ram on-board will make a lot of difference to your rig.
GP4 is more cpu dependent than other simulators, that is why some lagging can be experienced on lower end systems. If you are trying to use a mod in-game with hi-res textures, you're pretty much up the creek without a paddle. That is why a good graphics card can help you, as it will take over some of the load. Any increase in memory, regardless of whether it is on the mobo or on the graphics card, is advantageous. Also, there is no need to strive for a 60fps in game, the human eye cannot detect flicker above 25fps so if you can set the in-game graphics to achieve 25fps it should be ok. It's a matter of tweaking the settings till you find that sweet spot. The PO is always higher at race start and usually drops to 80%. It is a good idea to disable all background programs that run resident in memory on a normal system start-up so you have every last bit available. Task Manager will show whats running.

I found a backup f1graphics.cfg when I use an ATI 7000 VE ... this matter? I found that reviewing this ATI has 32MB RAM and not 64MB as I said before ... forgivable my mistake, after all it's been almost 10 years.

Before you buy new RAM and new Grafik-Card you shoult buy a new PC (it´s A LITTLE BIT more expensive today but you have for more years fun, because your pc is very slow i must say and gp4 need very much power and RAM if you want to play with all graphics and so on...)
i did the same, before i had a pentium 4, 3 ghz, 512 mb grafic-card, 1 gb RAM and i wasn´t so happy because it was choppy sometimes.
and my pc was from 2002!!
i did buy me in 12.2011 a new pc athlon 4x3.3 ghz, ATI 1024 mb grafic-card, 4 gb RAM and gp4 has a cpu-usage by 40-70 % and i have all grafics full und with updates (bigger cars.tex files and so on) and in the graficcard-options of the pc i put the grafic-quality higher as normal.
and this pc costs me ca 450 € (but without windows, monitor...only the pc, because the rest i had at home)
and i´m so happy with this pc and i make provisions with this pc for the next few years because it is on the highest stand...
