sounds great, but I don't have the monies to pay for it...... ah well,

tbh sounds like F1 digital version 2.0.

especially when it was talking about sky race control...

The archive races would be a massive drawcard for me if I had to make a decision about Sky.

Meh, races going back to 1988 doesn't give me much to go at since I still have all the original live recordings on VHS, starting in 1989. Full races going back to 1978 would've been more impressive from them. 1988 is kind of a random date to start from. It would still be interesting to see how the foundations for the Senna/Prost rivalry got laid down though, and the reaction to it as it was playing out too.

They've been advertising it constantly on the other Sky channels(I watch Living a lot) but as far as I know they've not brought the launch date forward.

its just rolling promos at the moment(the time-lapse williams and caterham assembly is quite cool), i think the first actual program is 'the F1 show' on friday evening.

Anyone noticed the horrible error on the time lapse's ??

In the title it says the team name, and winter 2012. Surely its winter 2011 ;). Unless of course Sky are showing us next years cars :p

Pffft all the announcements by SKY.

Until they announce a SKY GO ticket purely for a single Grand Prix weekend that would cost no more than a fiver then I'm not interested.

BBC and/or Justin.tv it is for me.

Jim - I dont know if you follow NASCAR or not, but I usually get my stream links through the site you just mentioned, however so far for the first two races I've been lucky enough to get a stream lasting 10mins before it was shut down. Last year, it never happened once! The frequency of shut downs was less for the race just passed, so perhaps it was only for the Daytona 500...

F1 however is greater globally so I suppose, someone somewhere in the world will always manage to have a stream.

I don't follow Nascar but I do know that the streams can be unreliable but in my experience that's no so much that they get shut down but more that my app crashes and I have to reload. More often than not the stream is still there and I've used it for things like the Indy 500, IRL, ALMS etc.

Had to annoyingly install various crap before my laptop would play that... (which always gives my ailing laptop a hissy fit) but it's working smooth enough at the moment. Watching the FW34 build time lapse.

Oh... It's switched to Rugby or something... That's the thing with this type of stream, you're very much at the mercy of the guy with the remote control.

Virgin are getting none of the red button stuff or old races.

That's not surprising... SKY would want to charge the extra for it.

I hope this stream shows this evenings programme at 8pm.

As annoying as Sky are, the adverts of what they are showing look nothing short of incredible.

If they offered as good an internet package and price as Virgin, they'd be onto a winner with me.

But the limited broadband and overpriced tv package for channels I wouldn't watch doesn't justify it.

A shame, as they could capitalise on new Sky customers big time.

Bad marketing for them.
