Yes... It's beginning to look annoyingly attractive now.

I still have no intention of getting SKY though.

It does sound good - I am fortunate to be a full Sky Sports/Movies customer, but we dont have the HD setup at home. Can I assume the F1 channel will have the non HD option like SS1/2/3/4 currently offers? I have to be honest by saying that I havent read a great deal of small print yet, I just know the channel (HD at least) starts on March 9th.

Great news! Lot's of spills and bangs then!

Other news, for Sky viewers who have motors TV, they'll be showing the Grand-am season live I believe and live coverage or delayed live of the Nationwide series. I presume Eurosport will keep WTCC, ITV, BTCC so hears hoping someone gets DTM because that's me set for the year!

Pretty pleased with motors TV getting grandam and nationwide!

Even better. 1st round of Indycar champ will be on F1 HD channel... not sure about the full season but I would hope so :D! Sky might as well make this a pure motorsport channel.

With the prospect of Rubens being in Indy car this has got me pretty excited. Wilson, Power, Dario and Rubens going head to head :D!

so on Virgin Media you get Sky Sports 1-4 plus F1 for £22.50 per month. anyone know how much it is to have it in HD?

as much as i don't want to pay for it at all, i can't bear to imagine what it would be like not watching the whole thing live like i have done since 1994. i wish they could have made some sort of deal where you could buy F1 HD alone, for maybe £10 per month, without all the other sports channels, as i'm not interested in any other sports.

You could buy a thing.

Like... it's not your fault if the zoo lets all the animals out and you happen to have a cage that catches them. If they only want you to have certain animals then they shouldn't let them all escape.

those kind of things were all disabled a couple of years ago when they encypted all channels in a different way. i haven't heard of a new type of thing like that being available since then.

They're missing out on some tricks and custom here surely.

There is no way I'm getting myself a SKY dish because I neither need nor the channels it offers, I don't watch much TV anyway and the only sport I follow is F1.

In theory I could get myself a SKY subscription and the ocassional months subscription on SKY Go, but £45 to watch 1 or 2 races live? No thanks, likelyhood is that I'd be at work anyway.

I would consider pay per view if it existed for f1 which it doesn't seem to and only if it wasn't extoriantely expensive which it probably would be.

The way the subscription options seem to appear is in bundles which personally I simply do not want. I don't want to have to sign up to several hundred channels or phone & broadband just to watch the odd F1 live, which is all I'd want SKY for.

However.. If they offered a pass for just a single grand prix weekend on it's own on sky go, then I would consider it.

If you know anyone on Sky that has the channel they can let you watch it on anytime.

I might be able to let people do this but not sure if it will work on Virgin media yet.

What do you mean???? By being physically sat in someone's living room, or remotely?!?! (Apologies if this is a daft question)

You can set up sky anytime on a laptop of mobile device, so if you know someone who has sky they can give you a code and you will be able to watch F1 that way.

If you mean sky go, which is the sky on the move service, it does have certain limitations as i used it before we got rid of sky. Firstly only 1 person can view something at any time, so if you are borrowing someones account they can't be watching anything. Secondly, you have to register two devices which will use sky go, and these two devices will be the ones where you can watch stuff, other devices will ask you to remove one of the previous 2 registrations in order to use it. Devices include anything PC, Laptop, iphone, ipad.

That's assuming you mean sky go ;)
