Hmm, currently Brundle has joined Davidson, Chandhok and Croft in the 5Live commentary box for FP2. So they can work together.

Pretty sure it was all just BS anyway. I've never seen it referred to on any site, just forums.

Just watched FP2.

Brundle and Coft just sounded perfect. And yup, Brundle sounded like ive not heard him sound a while! He seemed alot more into it, even only being a FP session!

BBC's coverage is superb in every aspect apart from this.

I had to watch todays race on iPlayer so was stuck with Legard/Brundle. Legard to me sounds like he hasn't been following F1 for too long.

I really love the F1 forum though, makes me wonder how ITV always put out such a poor product.

I dont have much experience from your commentators on BBC/ITV as i live in Sweden, but, Ben Edwards is for me fantastic, love his old Cart commentry, still remember when Mark Blundell won his first race, 3 way battle over the line, fantastic! And the Michigan video posted earlier is just another great example! And his old F1 commentry on Eurosport with John Watson was excellent! Still i think you guys are so much better off then we are in Sweden. Sure its become better during the last 2-3 years, but its still miles off what you guys have! I wish i could have access to BBC coverage as its alot better!

That struck me too - it was almost as though he was enjoying being able to just dish out trivia and actually have it listened to and appreciated. As always, his comments on how the drivers have it too easy these days were amusing

To be fair, the FP commentary is always more relaxed and more like a conversation. I suspect that has a lot more to do with it.

Yeah the free practice coverage kind of reminds me of being trackside myself and having a natter and banter with friends and other spectators. It works well.

Apparantly according to an article on crash.net Legard is to be replaced with................David Coulthard! ~
That will be interesting to see / hear if its true, although we would lose the lead + co-commentator style we've had for years and have a more "discussion" style commentary.

I'd be surprised if that turns out to be the case. DC is basically the antithesis of excitement and enthusiasm

and the fact that he is employed by one of the teams isn't a good thing for a commentator.

I would probably rather Legard than Coulthard.
