i like the shape of the renault at the back, it's awesome. i didn't like the nose but now it's growing on me (like pinocchio)

not sure why people are ranting about the williams though, it's rather dull

you'd think that renault would at least be able to line up the colours on the side of that nosecone.

Portimao Testing Times

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari (B ) 1:41.528 65
2. de la Rosa McLaren-Mercedes (B ) 1:46.076 28
3. Hulkenberg Williams-Toyota (B ) 1:46.335 28
4. Piquet Renault (B ) 1:48.907 33
5. Kobayashi Toyota (B ) 1:50.989 46

Is it me or is that Williams unusually close to the McLaren? I know McLaren were running the 08 wing, but Hulkenberg has often been quite below the pace.

That F60 looks awesome on track. I think Kimi will race #3 as FIA have to get the teams to enter the form shizzle for the next season somewhere in the middle of season and at that time Ferrari may have put Kimi as the team leader of next season. Who knows.

Comparing test times is usually not going to give you a proper view of the real performance of teams.

Comparing shake down times, well...

They need to make their minds up soon, otherwise a certain little someone will be suffering from smugness overload.

Really like the look of the Williams, to me it actually makes the new regs look perfectly normal...
I'll also stick my neck out say that I actually quite like the Renault livery - really hope they change the nose - but yeah, it's not too bad in my mind. Slightly suspicious of what appear to me to be go-faster stripes at the back of the car though, but ah well!

See yourselves please... and read your own comments about 2009 regulations in late November, 2008... when you saw the 2009 package in the Williams in the FW30B, all of you said that F1 is going to be ugly... and all that I'm reading now is compliments for the new cars... Where are you??

I also said that, and I love quite much the new cars... so I'm guilty ;)

I can.. Actually would be better if nobody ever sees it. ;) Current livery and sidepod reminds nicely about 1998 Arrows.. :)

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

See, I was one of the very few to say that the new F1 was going to look nice, and look what happened ;)

I like the Renault livery, all bright colours are welcome. It's about time we had a bright and cheery car again, I'm getting fed up of the white and day-glow red. But, the nose isn't the nicest thing to look at. But then again, variety is a great thing, and the Renault provides plenty of it.

The Williams looks the most technical so far to me, I'm looking forward to seeing how it perfoms and seeing it's final livery. Here's some fingers crossed that this is finally Williams' year to jump back up the field. This year I think they genuinely have a chance.

The Williams looks gorgeous but perhaps the monotone livery is flattering it somewhat. That Renault though...ack! What's up with that? The design looks amateurish (what's with that nose?) I know that ING makes life difficult for them, but really, I hope nobody got paid for designing that. The car's physical design too, looks appalling. The nose looks like a shoebox, and while the twisting sidepods looked good back in the days of winglets, they just look...wrong now that they're bare.

The only thing I can think of as regards that Ferrari pic is that Raikkonen and Massa were both shaking down the same car.

That Williams just looks better and better. I hope they resist the temptation to splash about the white. I think that what makes it look good is the bold shoulder on the sidepod. Compare it to the Ferrari, which looks like it has very little sidepod. I think it works on the McLaren too. Mind you, all the cars are looking good, I can even handle the Renault nose after a little acclimatisation.

I swear that I have read somewhere that one of the williams aerodynamicists came from Arrows? *goes out to research*
