Alonso is far from confirmed at Ferrari next year. I mean, contractually he is, but he is still "linked" to Red Bull - Christian Horner is adamant that no decision has been made.

Just sayin' :P

I also read on autospprt.com that JB doesn't have confirmation that he'll be at McLaren next year.

Haha,

True but I am updating this by contracts at this time. According to Eddie Jordan, a deal is done with Riccardo for Red Bull and it will be announced in a couple of days... Apparently :)

Oh please make it happen ;)

The Real Story of the Race was that the Renault's fell apart and the Ferrari's didn't.
Rosberg headed for the sliproad and retired, probably because of Nicotin starvation they have still not given him a helmet with a little hole in it.

One awesome thing about this thread, which no-one has mentioned yet: It was actually started during a Grand Prix. Brilliant :)

Shows how boring a race it was. ;)

I remember in VTR's first season of endurance racing we were doing the Spa 1000km and after an hour 30mins or so I'd just handed VTR1 over to Neil Stratton and the engine died. VTR3 had already crashed out at Stavelot. Our 2nd car crashed out a little later when the driver's computer froze and the game carried on in the background. With all 3 cars out and with the race running, we went and started testing for the next race at Sebring, scheduled for a month later. ;)

LOL, just hearing that there are rumours Brawn has bought Wolff's stake in Williams.

I can see where the logic in the rumour is, with the recent engine tie-up between Mercedes and Williams, but I just think it's people putting two and two together.

And I eagerly await Eddie Jordan next exclusive, involving Alonso heading back to Lotus (again) to replace Kimi, or McLaren. If you throw enough @#$%& around Eddie, if you throw enough @#$%& around...

The journalists really are pulling out the stops this year. Vettel to Ferrari, Alonso to Red Bull, Kimi to Ferrari, Button to Ferrari, Alonso to McLaren, Kimi to McLaren, Hulkenberg to Ferrari. I'm just waiting on Mansell making a return.

Yeah, the Brawn buying Wolff's stake in Williams probably purely rumor mongering.

If it were true though, I'd welcome it.

Paddy Lowe is being groomed for his job at Mercedes, and I can't see Brawn wanting to take too much of background role again especially when he already has Lauda pretending to be important when he's basically only pen pushing, and Wolff in a kind of Norbert Haug position.

I can see a role at Williams being quite attractive in that respect, having a stake in it could put him in a kind of Patrick Head position as basically the boss of all things technical whilst Williams finds him the money. Plus he's worked with Symonds before.

I think Williams would welcome it as well... they're a bit desperate for a knight in shining armor to rescue them.

Some people are already up in arms predicting the return of BrawnGP.

As you say I think it'd be in a role similar to that which Patrick Head used to hold.

Brawn and Symonds, the Benetton staff all seem to want to head to Williams.

Massa's officially confirmed his departure from Ferrari via Instagram, so it seems that Raikkonen will become a closed deal in a few days. In addition, Eric Boullier has stated that should Kimi leave, Hulkenberg is at the top of his agenda for 2014.

So, er, yeah...

:-( i'm sad for Felipe, but i think he's been lucky to have had a further 2 years with ferrari post-2011, he certainly ain't the same after his accident, plus always having to move over for alonso won't do any favours.
I hope he gets a drive for next year as I think it will invigorate him, but I don't think it will happen.

Farewell Felipe

Interesting.

So Massa is most likely limping off to Brazilian Stockcar with his tail between his legs. Despite his assertions that he's aiming for a top team to power him to wins and a championship it's unlikely that any top team has any actual vacancies. McLaren is most likely to retain both Button and Perez. "Lotus" will be keeping Grosjean for "continuity" and Hulkenberg will be at the top of their shopping list if Kimi moves back to Ferrari. That pretty much rules out the "top team" options for Massa, and I doubt he really wants to drive for Maurussia, or Sauber as a Ferrari old-timer.

So.. if Kimi goes to Ferrari, we can expect Hulkenberg to jump ship from Sauber to "Lotus"... either that or Alonso will throw a hissy fit because he doesn't like having team-mates who can be as quick as him and return to his old chums at Enstone for a third spell.

Personally I'd choose Hulkenberg to go to Ferrari.. because with his massive potential he's a excellent long term prospect, although with Kimi's ability to bring a car home in the higher region of the points consistently will one of the main things that Ferrari want... because Massa has lost the team a lot of points for the past three years.
