So with this, what left from Jacarepagua will be definitely extinct.

A new circuit will be built in another area of the city, the plan is to match FIA's highest grade, and possibly concur for a place alongside (or in the of) Interlagos, in Formula One championships.

Well done to Rio, hosting the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics within 2 years is a great achievement!

Its also good news that they plan to build another circuit to replace Jacarepagua, but hopefully it does not replace Interlagos.

Good that the continent has finally got an Olympics to look forward to. It's been a travesty that it hasn't had one before.

Wow, i never noticed that before, it is almost unbelievable that there hasn't been one there yet.

Hopefully Africa gets one of the next few as well - apparently South Africa and Morocco are bidding for the 2020 games (according to wikipedia)

Congrats to Rio! As said already, South America is long overdue an Olympics. The atmosphere at these ones will be insane!

Oh the idea of a new circuit is a nice promise! :D We have SO much elevation changes that it would be a crime not to build something epic!
