Coventry City. 30+ years in the top flight and they still got relegated and only just avoided sinking without trace. Shocking.

Oops, I meant to say "LOL".

I don't believe we thought we had a divine right to stay in the top division or kept on referring to our own fanbase as the "Coventry nation"

+1

What's the difference between Alan Shearer and newcastle United?

Shearer will still be on Match of the Day next season.

Oh come on! Bloody hell, I just updated my PES 2007 (PS2) last night and made Newcastle's away shirt be that silver one. Grr!

By the way, what are Hull's chances of actually landing Michael Owen?

Bloody slim I hope! He's obviously not as sharp as he was, but he's a far better player than Hull.

I hope Liverpool re-sign him, as it looks like they'll lose out on Tevez and I really don't think they can afford Villa, and they need another option up-front. They can't just rely on Torres all the time.

I've got a feeling he'll end up at Everton (he is/was an Everton fan), and if anyone can persuade him to play on a cut-price deal it will be David Moyes.

Hehehe :P. This has to be the craziest off-season I've seen in ages, it's amazing all the rumours going around so many names.... Villa, Tevez, Ibrahimovic, Maicon, Torres,.... I cannot wait to see transfers being finalized!

I'm gonna have to disagree with Gav here (surprise, surprise) but...

I really don't rate Michael Owen anymore, injuries have taken their toll on him and he is not the player he wants once (He was to me one of the most gifted players in the World back in the late 90s/early00s)

If the club he signs for can get him on s "pay as you play" deal it might be worth it, but he is totally deluded if he thinks a team will equal what he was getting paid at Newcastle.
