9-5 Higgins now, Frame 14 won with a break of 128. He's catching fire again!

Second session over, and Higgins is 11-5 up! He also made another 128 break to win Frame 16, which was also the 83rd century break of the tournament.

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

So, John has had another strong session this afternoon, leading 16-8 after the 3rd session!
Play in the final session is now getting underway.

Another frame for Higgins, now he's 17-8 up and just needs one more frame! And by coincidence, this next frame(Frame 26) will be the 1000th frame John has played at The Crucible...

Frame 26 won by Shaun Murphy though, a good mini fightback. He's still 17-9 down though.

Many congrats to John Higgins! His 3rd World Championship title, won in mindblowing style, 11 years to the day after his first Championship win in '98. 18-9 the final scoreline. His career stats are now starting to reflect his greatness as a player.

Amazing tournament, great standard of play all the way through. That's reflected by the number of century breaks alone, the new World Snooker Championship record of 83 smashing the previous record of 68 set in 2002.

So that's snooker done now till late summer when the new season will start.
