OK, I might end up getting flamed for this, but is anybody else watching the snooker at the moment? There have been a few interesting twists and turns.

I'm currently watching the semi final between Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy - looks like it could be going nearly all if not all the way.

John Higgins is my favourite for the championship at the moment.

Murphy-Robertson match currently 4 frames apiece going into the second session tomorrow. Neil Robertson deserved to win that last frame, he pulled off a stunning long pot.

John Higgins up 6-2 against Mark Allen in the other semi :)

Hendry lost to Shaun Murphy in the quarter finals, 13-11. Surprising really, he was in great form earlier in the tournament and made that brilliant 147 break early on in his quarter final match.

O'Sullivan lost to Mark Allen in the Second Round, 13-11 also.

ok thanks for the info. i saw hendry's 147 break, that was really awesome

No probs.

Higgins is on fire at the moment, 13-3 up against Allen. Epic stuff.

Murphy 7-5 up against Robertson at the mid-session interval. Play has just resumed.

Well, that was a decent evening's worth of snooker :)

The last 4 frames of the second session of the Murphy-Robertson match were shared, two apiece. Murphy won the first two of those and looked like he was running away with the match, then Neil Robertson won the last two with great comebacks. The last frame was a belter. After a great tactical exchange Robertson almost clinched the frame, got to the stage where Murphy needed snookers, then tried an exhibition shot on the blue ball and blasted it high up in the air, so it landed on the floor and ended up against the barrier the crowd sit behind. The extra points Murphy got from that foul briefly put him back in the frame, before Robertson finally won it.
So, it's 9-7 in Murphy's favour overnight. Looks like it could be a close match, but Murphy seems to have the edge so far.

In the Higgins-Allen semi, John won a couple more frames tonight, but Allen won a total of 6 more, bringing the overnight score to 15-9 in Higgins' favour. So Higgins has to finish the match off tomorrow by playing at least the two frames he needs to win it, instead of having the day off.

So Murphy has had another strong session, pulling further in front(14-10) going into the final session tonight. At least there's still hopefully a good few frames left in that one.

By the way 77 century breaks have been made so far during this World Championship - a record by a long way :)

Wow, awesome half-session. John leading 16-12. Amazing fightback by Allen, but a brilliant 116 break from John in the last frame. Awesome match!

So Higgins is in the final, the eventual score 17-13. Congrats John! What an end to the match! Credit to Mark Allen for his amazing attempt at a comeback!

Whoa, what a match is on! 14-14 at the mid-session interval! Brilliant comeback by Neil. Put a frame he'd already won back in the balance a couple of frames ago with a couple more exhibition shots(blasting the pink ball off the table this time) but then won it anyway. Quality stuff.

So, a Shaun Murphy-John Higgins final then. Great win from Shaun, 17-14 the final score, match over surprisingly quickly too in the end. And now I'm off out!

So, the final(being refereed by Micheala Tabb:)). John Higgins has taken an early lead by winning the first 3 frames, Shaun Murphy won the final one before the mid-session interval. This one could go all the way.

Man, Frame 5 was scrappy. Great performance from Shaun to eventually win it.

I think John Higgins needs to save himself early on(basically in the sessions played today) to give himself the best chance of winning this. He's come through a series of tough matches to get this far, and in his semi he built a massive lead, but still only struggled across the winning line. Also, Shaun has showed many times that he's great at bouncing back after dropping well behind in matches, so he won't be affected badly if he falls behind early on.

Agreed. He played some awesome snooker during this championship. At least next season he'll be up to #9 in the world rankings.
