It's Song with the assist. He had an excellent game.

I still have to check out this Vela kid... tonight I shall do so before my footy game, maybe I can take something from it!

Vela is so overhyped by Arsenal fans it's almost unbelievable. Sure, he may be capable of the odd special finish, but until he can do that kind of thing week in week out, I won't believe the hype.

Interesting that this game features more British players in the Arsenal squad than they've ever had in a first team game for about 2 or 3 years!

Vela is going to be special and I'm a Liverpool fan!

He's only 20, and you know what Wenger's like with nurturing his young talent (I sound like a groomer) - he won't hit the big time until he's 23 or 24 (so long as he's not unlucky with injuries).

This tops Eduardo's fracture :(. Just brutal tackle in the South African league:

Look how high that tackle is, it's a crime.

Well unlike Taylor, who lied about a hospital visit, this guy came out with an open letter to the media being very apologetic and from his words seemed very sincere about his apology. Sure it doesn't fix the past but hopefully it can be a very good lesson for the future.

Taylor didn't lie, it's just Eduardo never saw him (presumably because he was asleep or under shitloads of painkillers), and said so to the media. All the articles on the major networks claiming that Taylor had never visited were forced to be taken down.

You could tell he (and Taylor) were mortified after the tackle(s).

Really hope so but Taylor had a bad challenge on someone else later on so didn't do anything for him.

The post above mine. Didn't he get a yellow for faking the foul?

Yep (and it's good they're starting to clamp down on cheating)... but what's that got to do with his injury?

Just me having a dig at him for posting that here. There could be a link to him being hurt again.

Anyway, sadly a guy from Anderlecht had a very similar fracture just very, very recently :(. The guy who got the red card was complaining with the ref about being sent off.

Oh sorry, yeah. I was busy thinking about Eboue for diving at the weekend too (he did get a yellow). UEFA are investigating the Eduardo dive and he could (rightly IMO) get a 2 match ban. If it was up to me, anyone diving in order to con the ref (note, not falling over as a result of a legal challenge, or jumping out of the way of an incoming tackle) would be banned for 2 matches minimum.

Fully agree with a match ban, it should count as a red card. If you'd like to be appaled by referees then I suggest you watch 2 or 3 games from the Brazilian league. Absurd, really absurd. And most of them are in the FIFA "catalog" too :(.
