Women's World Cup - Brazilians are the best!

Wow! Brazil won USA for 4-0.
Brazilian girls are really terrific, because, here, we don't have organisation.
But our fighting girls will play the final, on Sunday, against Germany.
It's not important the final score. We have more respect to the soccer girls.
USA don't respect Brazil and lost.
Germany will play seriously. But I believe Brazil will be world champion!

Brazil really stepped up since last year in women's footy, now the girls are actually pro players instead of having to work other jobs.

interesting clip gui. sort of sums up my feelings on womans football. Without trying to sound overly predicatable, womens football has a LONG way to go before its close to the standard of their male counterparts - something which i suppose is fair enough given that mmen have been playing it for far far longer. But in that clip there are too many examples of utter shite football which have characterised the womans world cup for me tbh. ive watched some matches, even some highlights where 90% of the time is just aimless running and people aimlessly kicking the ball . Ive seen some matches at my level which without doubt have shown more skill and been hundreds of times more interesting to watch. look at the clip you posted and at goals 1,2 and 4. The defending is unforgiveably bad. Im not saying men dont make mistakes at world cup level, but come on: this is just dreadful. If i'm being picky, i could say that goal 3 was also defender error: yes its good play by brazil but what the hell is the central defender doing leaving the striker in the box!? Thats the thing, most goals (not all - some free kicks notably japan v england have been good) but most goals scored in the womens world cup seem to be down to shocking defence rather than great attack


im not sayin women will never be as good as men, but what irritates me is that people arent allowed to criticise womens football without being branded "sexist" or ignorant. There is a reason why the womens world cup attracts less attention than other main football tournaments: because the level of football is awful still. Im not saying it wont change: in your clip Gui the brazilian attack at 49 mins (just after the USA player is sent off) is quality. But you need to accept constructive criticism and not just blame a male-dominated world for why womens football aint as popular as men.

Either that or the next world cup can be played by models getting sweaty dancing around in bikinis.

Very fair point, Chris. I still think women's footy has miles to go but I saw the whole game and some of these girls have some very good physical capabilities. I'd love to see Marta, our #10, playing with men.

Some girls in the team don't even make $100 Euros/month, that has to change. It's a shame that the 1st goal came from atrocious defending, our defender walked away from the forward to give some weird and bad form of coverage. Oh well, hopefully Brazil won't forget about girls football.

Germany has a better team, Brazil is starting to play in a level like men´s.
