Portugal edging closer & closer. Looks like England are gonna get it eastnext game without Costinha & Deco ;)

With all due respect, Portugal didn't deserve to win at all. I can't remember when I have last seen a team playing so unfair. Figo has lost almost all respect in my eyes - what a pathetic actor he is.

They won! Poor Cheeseland! they had freaking cool actions but they missed it. I liked the picture with Van Bronkhoorst and Deco talking after getting red cards.
This was cool :)

@ Vader yes I hated those crappy acts from both side.

Even without Deco and Costinha England will probably struggle to overcome them.

I'd say Figo will get a ban after the match for the headbutt. And that ref shouldn't be refereeing, equaled the all time World Cup record for most yellow cards and set a new record for most red cards in a World Cup match.

The Dutch were unlucky and Kuyt wasn't upto much.

You could argue exactly the same about both. In a footballing respect, Portugal really performed, especially when down to 10 men, before it started getting really silly.

First of all I don't think it's th efault of the referee if players turn to beasts. He had no chsoice as to show all these reds and yellows, they were all justified. He actually should have shown a few more.

Yes, Holland played hard as well, but Portugal was simply pathetic.

*EDIT*

With all the action I apparently forgot the nasty foul against Ronaldo in the beginning - that somehow puts my previous statement into perspective. Let's agree that both Holland and Portugal suck and must be wiped from this planet's face? ;)

silly last 20 minutes...referee sucked, should be banned. Figo should start a new carrer in theatre ;-) feeling sorry for Netherlands, they had a very good team but i also dont get why van nistelrooy wasn't playing especially in last minutes of the game...

If you're trying to tell me Figo should have been sent off for his "head butt", picture the world cup final - Ballack is in Figo's position and does exactly that. The ref would never, ever show him a straight red. It was soft.

The ref set his standard pretty low early on, and had no choice but to continue punishing tackles for either team - though I'm still trying to work out what Deco's second yellow was for - no wonder Scolari was incensed.

I guess it was for picking up the ball with his hands to play for time.

I never said that Ronaldo should have seen red for his headbutt. I just think that a man like him shouldn't have to do these things.

"I guess it was for picking up the ball with his hands to play for time. "

players do that all the time, there was no need for another yellow card

Deco got second yellow for delaying the game

On fouls again: yes they were all justified, but when you are giving a card for a foul it's not always about the rules you must understand the game and the players. Otherwise you will probably destroy the whole game like it was in this case. Players were stressed and every contact with opponent got awarded by yellow card. Also some fouls seemed like a vendetta...Referee just changed great game ( 1st half ) to comedy. He didn't stop players to foul each other, he just gave more cards. And that's how it not should be done... That's all thx

There was no need for all this unfairness from both sides.

when it gets that big like this time, it's already late. But giving loads of cards is contra-productive.
