hahahahahaha :p

By the way, I missed the Japanese goal, and it was clearly a foul on the goalie (I didn´t pay attention to the Jap being pushed, if it happened). The goalie is not supposed to be touched or have his path blocked in the area, and it clearly wasn´t a case of the goalie abusing it, so it does even out with the penalty kick not given.

You can´t deny Australia kicks shins and knees more than the ball though :p

I'll concede that there was one or maybe two clumsy challenges :)

1972 World Cup was our own world cup, you see, after missing out on the 1970 WC, we decided that come what may, we would be going to a world cup - even if it meant no-one else turned up...;)

You mean the way football should be, rather than this poncy Americanised "oh my, don't touch me, I've got a good solicitor" sort of style? ;)

The ref even apologised to Schwarzer beacause he was wrong on the goal. So the goal shouldn't have stood.

Watch the bloody replay, you will clearly see the australian defender shove hthe japanese playter, and the goaly made a mistake anyway, anbd was more interested in pushing the japanese player himself than getting the ball.

Goalkeepers are not bloody infallable in this circumstance.

ummmmm...... well the three other bloody goals were fine so it doesn't really matter does it?

(btw, blatant Japanese foul there....;))

That the ref appologised to Schwarzer says enough, doesnt it??

No, there is such a thing a "bowing to pressure" don't you know?

But there was no pressure, because the aussies won the match after all.

That's not to suggest it didn't change the course of the game though... The Aussies threw on attacking players to get themselves back into the match, but if they hadn't, who knows what might have happened. 3 goals in the final 6 minutes for Japan? You don't know.

I can't comment on the point in question though - never saw it, but I did see the Aussie goals. Congrats to them - a cracking end to the match :)

Having just seen the Togo game, Australia are no longer the dirtiest team in the tournament. :)

Dutch trainers are doing well:

Van Basten: win
Don Leo: draw (with T&T0)
Guus Hiddink: win
Dick Advocaat: win

Daniel, there was no foul on the Japanese guy, ok? It was a foul on the goalie, just accept it ;). And I was cheering for Japan, before you begin accusing me of blasphemy and have the Spanish Inquisition come after me :p

LOOOOOOK :

The australian player blatantly shoves him into the goal keeper

If anything, it is a penalty.

No fouls at all to be honest... Schwarzer just got his angles wrong and came out too far. It's not like the Japanese bloke intentionally obstructed him, and likewise from the Aussies. Just a lot of mis-communication and mis-judgement.

It's a foul on Schwarzer, period
