I read it this morning and having 2 incidents in 1 week is pretty hard for everyone in their familys and everybody around working in both sports.

RIP Marco Simoncelli

Truly horrific incident. Extremely sad news, even more so after the events of the previous weekend.

RIP Marco.

horrible and very unlucky accident, if the tyres hadn't grip (if that's the right word) again he would simply slide onto the grass :(

Seeing this and Dan's incident live only a week ago is very sad.

Such a loss to motogp and very bad week for motorsport.

RIP.

RIP Marco :(

As suggested here, one of the things I thought afterwards was, thats Rossi done with this then. I feel for Marco's family and friends but how must Edwards and Rossi feel? It was obviously no fault of their own but to be involved must be an indescribable feeling right now.

But yeah, sad week. Isnt this the 2nd motorbike accident in 2 weeks now? Wasn't there a fatality not so long ago? I cant remember the event though.

This dashboard video is really creepy. Maybe Marco has not died from the impact, maybe he died before that. He barely moves...didn't even tried to recover his position on his bike. not even touch the ground to protect himself or something.

he lost the front and then tried to save it, it's not easy to recover your position on a motorobike once you have almost fallen off it

I don't watch Motogp regularly, but I saw the Phillip Island GP last week. Simoncelli being a name that I recognised, I was surprised to hear that 2nd was his best ever finish. I saw an interview with him, realised what a friendly bloke he was, and thought to myself that I'll watch out for him in the future.

I came to this forum, saw a topic about the rider I was starting to follow, so I clicked on it. Then I read that he's dead. I didn't believe it at first, but I went to autosport and there it was - Simoncelli dies.

But, I feel more at peace with this death than Dan Wheldon's. Maybe because Marco's crash wasn't controversial.

RIP Marco Simoncelli, 24 is far too young. It made me shudder when I saw "Marco Simoncelli: 1987-2011", that really made me think...

Some people find them informative. Don't click on them? It's not like you can see anything before you click on it. No disrespect meant by that though - just saying.

Awful accident, but unlike Dan's it was unavoidable given the nature of the sport. RIP.

Sure, but we also have to keep in mind copyright reasons.

He was concious at the medical centre, so that theory can be ruled out.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

There were reports of this at the time, but I think they were incorrect, based on the press conference with the MotoGP Medical Director.

Again with the copyright? Why do you still keep the modding community? They are using pictures, real names and registered trademarks. Why don't you erase that? (obviously seeing a man dying is NOT what a normal person wants to see)
