The horse has been put to sleep due to his injuries :(.
It's a shame that cameramen could see the horses yet the organizers didn't bother trying to prevent such from happening.

Gui, a rally isn't circuit racing, you don't put walls or fences everywhere next to the track, and if 3 horses decide to run, and there's a car approaching, bad luck.

Good luck fencing off 200 miles of rally course.

You can't prevent it. They could've hit a tree along the road aswell. Now I'd rather crash into a horse than into a tree.

that video really makes me sad... and amused, but mostly sad... But in cases like this, its allways an spectators fault.

They were *very* lucky there - the horse could've easily gone through the windscreen rather than bounce off of the A pillar.

Also, poor horsey :(

Oh I watched this with audio yesterday. The pilot says nothing about it while the co-pilot goes on to mention a crest. Could they be any more indifferent?! :\

Are you joking? The driver is meant to interrupt the pace notes to talk about the dead horse? And the co-pilot has a job to do. If he doesn't keep his eye on his notes he will lose his place and then they are basically lost.

Jesus christ, it's a god damn horse. You work at McDonalds, a company which kills millions of cows in far worse ways than that horse died! Who cares?

Should the drivers be talking about every fly that they kill during the stage as well? No. Then why should they talk about a horse? Because it's bigger and fluffier doesn't make it any worse than killing a fly.

If they want to talk about the horse, they can always do so between stages. Winning comes first, comparing poo stains second.

As Dave alludes to, everything happens so quickly when you're in a car doing a rally, they wouldn't have had time to think about whether the horse might die or not.
