Earnhardt jr was a better choice tbh, Kyle Busch is an idiot, hes just a step above Edwards imo.

Watch out for Kahne in 2012. hes going to own everyone.

*NASCAR Facepalm*

Carl Edwards - deducted 60 drivers points, $25,000 fine, probation until Dec 31st
Jack Roush - dedicted 60 owner points
Brad - probation until Dec 31st

Brad is on probation for being wrecked. What the F**K is that?

NASCAR, you're doing it f**king wrong. Sort it out.

60 points is nothing right? And $25,000, again nothing I imagine for him that team?

I suspose like you say it wont stop any further behaviour like this from Carl, but then at least Nascar can say they've done 'something' even if it's not alot :(

So what does someone have to do to get a ban in this sport, put someone in hospital, kill someone?

Edwards really does need some time out after this!

In other news JPM lead FP1 and currently leads FP2 :D!

Really hope he gets this win! His first oval win at Indy would be sensational! And as I said in GP thread, it would make him a winner of Monaco, Indy 500, Brickyard 500 withonly Daytona (with those strong EGR engines I dont think he's far off!!!) and Le mans remaining until JPM should be proclaimed the best racecar driver of all time :p.

The 60 points is sorta symbolic. It puts Carl 1 point behind Brad in the championship. I'm pretty sure thats the reason for the points.

I hope JPM wins, but I'd prefer a more traditional style oval. I love Indy, but Stock Cars produce @#$%& racing there.

It's got something about which seems to suit him well. He's been quick everytime he's been here right?

It's annoying sometimes because he is so close to winning but having the pace throughout a race, or even having the pace to run up front, then the pace at the end to win just seems so difficult!

It's another thing that amazes me, it might only 4 corners but it's amazing how drivers/teams can get it so right and so wrong. Winning an oval will imo be a bigger achievement than any one of his F1 wins, maybe on par with Monaco (because of the shear concentration level!). Though the same guys tend to be up front, winning just seems so difficult!

Ovals are much more setup dependant than road racing. It makes it sound like it takes less driving skill, but to give the feedback required to setup a car so perfectly, and then drive it so close to the edge is a skill, just a very different one. Small differences are magnified a lot on an oval.

The performance spread in NASCAR is so much closer indeed. Whilst it may be the same teams up front constantly, there is a lot more cars involved with those teams. And even then, other entries can still get a shot in at times. It is impossible to consider Mercedes winning a GP on merit this year, but as we've just seen, Michael Waltrip Racing just won a NASCAR race on pure performance, no luck involved.

The cautions, and cars going a lap down can make massive changes to the race too.

Here's hoping NASCAR don't fake a race victory.

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

Dave, they dont have telemetry right? so setup is 100% based on what the spotter sees and driver feedback. It makes it all the more amazing imo.

Juan on Pole :D:D! In front of Ron Dennis too ;)!!

Apparently the visit is to do with Mclaren supplying ECU's or something. One could wish for a Mclaren entered car however unlikley ;-)! With Jenson taking up a seat after his F1 career :p.

Telemetry is banned, but data is logged and downloaded after practice/qualifying/race. Live telemetry is permitted during testing.

Yeah, NASCAR is looking into fuel injection. Yeah, they actually don't have that yet lol.

I guess nobody told Montoya that you can't pass on the outside at Indy then. What you don't know can't hurt you.
