Watched this race on 5 abit ago. Just highlights because internet stream was not great for me.

And just one of them things that makes you think your computer has a mind, well the video stream went very dead for the last restart and last most important bit, only to fix itself right at the flag!!

Anyway, obviously being rather new to this, would I be right in saying Jaun set his car up for say 20-30 odd laps because of the likley hood of the cautions? Is this the way to go? Do they all do it?

I guess on some tracks there is more chance for cautions than others, so do the teams simply setup their cars with that in mind? Knowing after 20-30 odd laps there is a great chance of being able to come in and get tyres/fuel?

The influx of other drivers is making it more difficult for development drivers to get up the ladder. Scott Speed is doing god-awful and taking up a good seat. Hornish isn't doing much better. Now we're looking at Salo, Trulli and Danica. I'd much rather drivers like Almirola, Allgaier and Kligerman get seats. But they'll struggle as teams drop the development drivers in exchange for the PR of getting one of these stars onboard.

I thought Danica signed for IRL for another 3 years?

I dont think Trulli would be a serious contender at a seat anyway tbh, I would guess for him this is just an experience. Its a struggle even with oval experience so how would Trulli fare where none of his previous racing experience would mean anything? As for Salo, I would quite like to see him end up there. He's spent alot of time in America, so can only assume he knows the system well and I reckon he could be good.

I always did wonder how younger drivers ended up in the sprint cup... because you can race till your pretty old I guess it makes it that little bit harder to get up there.

I would be surprised if Trulli went to America; I thought he would have been much more suited to Le Mans or DTM than going to America.

Doesn't mean anything. Plenty of people have run both.

Good race last night, but Jimmie was clearly the quickest out there! I thought had there not been the last 2 re-starts JPM would have been lucky to keep the 4th spot he had.

I wonder if he can keep this up all the way through the next races. Certainly is causing a stir!

I hope that Mark Martin can come back to win it. I reckon he deserves a title...

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Had they not had the string of cautions at the end he should have been fine anyway. The car went off as the clouds went away and the track temperature rocketed. He was strong enough in shorter runs and early in the race that a top 3 he had should have been comfortable.

Kasey Kahne has called out NASCAR on the debris caution, saying it wasn't justified.

The final wreck, the commentators blamed Elliot Sadler, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted in the iRacing forum saying it was Ryan Newmans fault. Newman came up into the side of Jr on the exit of T4 and knocked the valve stem off of the left rear tyre. By the time Jr got to turn 1, it was flat and no matter what happened, Sadler was going to run into the back of Jr anyway. So not as much Sadlers fault as it seemed from the TV pictures.

Mark Martin winning the title finally would be awesome. But it is kinda depressing to see that the only drivers who can consistently run with the Hendrick power house are Montoya and Stewart.

Well, it´s actually just Montoya, as Stewart is driving a Hendrick built car.........

Not really the same though. Haas CNC always ran Hendrick cars and proved it doesn't matter who builds your car if the team preparing it isn't good enough. Buying a car from them, and being part of the team are quite different.

The Nationwide car looks far better than the Sprint Cup abominations.

Watched as much as the race as I could before I went to sleep...

Got to the point where Montoya got damaged and was falling back.

Was a good race upto then though, Montoya was one of the quickest and looking good for another good result. There was good racing too, the track looked pretty awesome and for the speed small and narrow!

Lowes, or Charlotte as it'll be back to next year, is pretty fast. I'm not really a fan.
