The Peugeot 908 V12 HDi DPFS is going to make it audi very difficult.
Personally i am a audi fan but i hope audi get's some real competition from peugeot to make the le mans races a little more exciting. And to be honest the peugeot looks sweet, but how do the drivers get in the car?
700bhp peugeot vs audi's 650bhp

This is how an F1 would look like with closed wheels, a window and lights...

I like it :)

Sure looks sweet , but Good looks have never won a race...Good Cars do though. And Audi clearly has the advantage as they have the experience of the last years. The experience of having a Diesel engine this year...and winning Le Mans with it.
I´d it´s a first attempt for Peugeot and it won´t be a shame to loose against Audi, but I hope that they both have sharp weapons in 2008

that peugeot looks absaloutly stunning! I may start having some kind of interest in endurance racing if they can provide Audi with some decent competition.

Why were the closed tops removed in the first place? Surely they would be more efficent?

The Peugeot is only a styling concept so far, although I guess the final vehicle will not be far off that. It follows the lines of the Bentley EXP speed 8 very closely though don't you think? Which is no bad thing. Incidently Martin Brundle once told me that was the most beautiful car he's ever driven and he's driven a few!
To answer Sil3nt-War, closed tops (which were LMP GT) had to run narrower tyres and have a more clostrophobic cockpit. Remember Brabham in the Aston at Le Mans last year? The open (used to be LMP 900, a la Audi R8) cars ran wider tyres but had smaller restrictors, hence were more more manuverable but gave out a bit on the top end. It was a trade off that most teams were happy to live with.
Don't quote me on this, but for 2008 or something the ACO is specifying closed prototypes. There was something in Autosport a few months ago about it with a feature on a new Lola. I'll have a word with our head of motorsport and get back to you on that though.

I've only just started posting. I'm currently working in Design at TVR.
I agree with SchueyFan, it would be great to see more manufacturers in GT's again!

So what they have an extra 100hp? I sincerely doubt they'll be able to pull 1100lb/ft torque out of a petrol engine no matter how hard they try. Audi's main winning trick is the humongous power it churns out across the revs.

Yeah, they might have some competition, but I've no doubt that the Audi boys will lap it up and just go even faster

Surely the HDi written on the side of these concept shots indicate it's a diesel?

Lol, so were going to have two Bentlys on the grid :P

The R10 massivley resembles the cooling of the Bently !

So im guessing this is the car going to be used testing cooling and mechanicals...

they also have the prototype c experience so its not asif they wont know what they're doing :D
