GP3 2000 "UNIVERSEmod": F1 1985/1996-2015 & 500+ tracks

Posted by pirx
Hi - i have hard some better luck now finding a more stable setup for running this mod with Dgvoodoo applied ... but there is a weird graphics glitch i get with the 1998 season. I have tried both the 96 and 97 season and the cards all look normal in those, but in the 1998 season, half the other cars are missing parts, missing wheels and rear wings and some are invisible entirely. This seems to only be the 1998 season

Is there something that hasnt been setup properly for the 1998 season? are the car sets missing elements?

okay hopefully thats the cause, i will do a redownload and see
i redownloaded all the files again and still 1998 the cars are missing parts - about half the field is missing tyres and others cars just disappear when they start driving.
I tested another season 2004 to see what its like and it runs fine and all the vehicles are there.

How could it be the case that just one season for me has the cars all messed up - is there something that might be different that works for GP3 in a different language, but in english it doesnt? It happens also on all the tracks in 1998 season too

Interestingly it is just the same cars in every circuit that have this issue: Jordan, Tyrell, Ferrari, Williams and Sauber - - what files exactly would be responsible for these cars, their tyres and abilitiy to be visible from a distance, as these cars also become invisible from about 10 metres away from them

I would think if this was some issue with my computer, it would happen to all the cars and all the seasons, but it is just these five constructors (ie 10 cars) in 1998

Hello, does anyone have the links to this? Been playing GP3 recently and would love to try this.
see the pages before on this post.
hi i could i get a new link to the GP3 universe mod - i redownloaded the files from the last link and still corrupted 1998 cars are there. Or perhaps if someone else here gets the same link, can you test the 1998 season and see if all the cars are showing up properly?

So i just realised - in the 1998 mod all the cars that have missing tyres are the cars that had GOODYEAR tyres..... so that is the culprit. Is there some way i can get the files that contain the tyres?
Did you see this post on page 30?

plz re-download GP3 UNIVERSEmod
..seems some files are corrupted.

& read helping txt-file inside 7-zip

Check if the issue still occurs and let us know.

Hi - i downloaded it all again and unzipped it to a new folder entirely and the GOODYEAR tyres for 1998 are still MISSING. - when you fixed the other corrupted files did you possibly miss fixing the 1998 cards

- load up this version of GP3 Universe in your link and run 1998 and check the jordan, tyrrell, ferrari, williams and sauber cards to see if there their tyres are visible - external view and also if you see those other cars from your view. So i am not talking about the 3d tires on your own car in cockpit, i am talking about the tires visible on those other cards and when in an external view - the attached image is a screenshot i took to show you what i am seeing how the 1998 goodyear cars look

Hi,

Here is the answer....

These tire files "should be" in the Gp3jams\Main folder

There I only found "bridgestone0.jam" and "bridgestone1.jam" and there are no files "goodyear0.jam" and "goodyear1.jam"

Notice in the "1998_season.set" file the lines...

[Tyres]
Jam01_01=goodyear0.jam
Jam01_02=goodyear1.jam
Jam02_01=bridgestone0.jam
Jam02_02=bridgestone1.jam
Team01=Jam01
Team02=Jam01
Team03=Jam02
Team04=Jam02
Team05=Jam01
Team06=Jam02
Team07=Jam01
Team08=Jam02
Team09=Jam02
Team10=Jam01
Team11=Jam02

So it seems to me that this "Grand Prix 3 UNIVERSE.7z" package is incomplete!!!

In the original 2.6GB "UNIVERSEmod.zip" package the goodyear tires files are there.

ORIGINAL PACKAGE!!!

LAST PACKAGE!!!

Do you have the original package?

Evandro ( Brazil )
i dont sorry but if someone else does can i please get those files?
Hi,

Do a quick test and see if it works.
Place these 2 files in Gp3jams\Main

Goodyear JAM ( Gp3jams\Main )

thanks for those files - oh boy this has produced an interesting result!

So the goodyear tyres are now visible on those cars from the external views, but when in the cockpits of any of those cars, yoru own 3d tires now have all weird changing textures on them, which look like elements of other things - like weird reflections almost

see the links for the images of what i mean

Here we go...

We have 2 options:
1. Download the original file (ask pirx for the link/authorization)
2. Maybe it's a problem with corrupted JAM files

I did a quick analysis and the Goodyear "BMP" files are missing from the Techjam folder!!!!!

Goodyear BMP ( Gp3jamsH\Techjam )

Maybe that's the only problem... but this package is not at all reliable... thank goodness it's only 1998...

If there's anything else tomorrow I'll check it out...

Evandro ( Brazil )
that did it!

The textures are all there now all looking good! Okay it looks like actually i am probably getting some good reliability now with the universe mod - its a little slow in some parts, but with some resolution and settings turned down its workable and the game is fun.

Hi, pirx

I just have to thank you for making this MOD and making it available to us.

It's always good to help and discover that we still have GP3 alive

Now everything is fine and this was another case solved by Sherlock Holmes

Evandro ( Brazil )
.. I took a deeper look into UNIVERSEmod-structure and there was indeed a problem with tyre-visibility in season ´98.

All fixed now and ready to DL, just ask for link in private message.
