track editing problem : split times and speed trap

I've just finished updating GP23K belini 2010 melbourne track to 2011 thanks to Roberto Scandura track editor tutorial and videos from the 2011 Australian grand prix.

But before sharing it, I have 2 problems to solve:

1- split times don't work.
They are ok in the track but in the game there is only one and not at the right place.

2- I would like to edit speed trap or add another one but I don't know where and how ?

Thanks for your help!

1. split times are in trackeditor/track name
split1 =366 split2 = 663

Go to these tracksections and you'll see a command like "map jip onto track surface".
This will draw the line across the road.

2. what do you mean by speedtrap?
If you only want to draw a line, then see above and use "map jip onto track surface".

hope this helps you enough

PS : this worked for me with the reduced files in gp3 1.13, maybe its not the same for gp3-2k.

Thanks for your help!

I don't want to draw lines :-)
My explanation wasn't good enough

1. I didn't notice that my split values were wrong, now I put yours and it's ok!

When I select Show/Info/Show splits, the values on track view are wrong (split1=364 split2=734). How can I correct that ?

2. Speed trap is the point where the cars reach the max speed.

In Melbourne it's before the first corner (the yellow point at [www.formula1.com])

I use this to setup the cars max speed in game according to [www.formula1.com] to be as close as possible to reality.

Do you know which command indicates that to be sure it's at the limit before the braking ?

Thanks

1. dont know, but thats only in trackeditor itself, when racing its ok ? no problem
2. I'm sorry, mate, thats not my cup of tea.
I suppose that you should search it in the CC-setup.

I found another problem.

At the end of a race instead of the chequered flag man there are timeboxes

What is missing or wrong in the track?

Thanks

thats a common problem with some belini reduced tracks; as far as i know there's no solution.
Never heard of this issue with the original belini files.

Thanks for your help!

I know that Belini had this problem on his Imola 2006 track and he solved it.
Hope he will give me the solution ...

If I get an answer ... I'll share it :-)
In GP2, that marshall problem happens when an object definition is deleted and object definition 16 is not the Marshall with black/white flag. It should be the same in GP3 as in the original tracks object definition 16 is the Marshall with black/white flag.

you have to look at the number on the back.
Its supposed to be 16,32,48,64 and so on.

Object definitions 0-16 are used for GP3 Defined Objects (cars, arrows, marshalls, pit crews), so you better look into an original track and edit those object definitions to match those defined objects. If not, you may have bugs when some of those objects which are missing or in the wrong position are used. You probably have two missing objects for some reason. Keep an eye on your current object definitions 15 and 16 becouse if you are using them at any point of the track, you'll have to create two new definitions with the same data and replace the Object Description Offset in the 0x80 commands that place those objects on the track.

I think he's better looking at the track tree, Object Definitions where the object definitions are numbered one by one. If he looks in the number on the back, he'll need to find Object Offset 256.

Thanks for your help.
The flag man is back to 16 and it's OK now.
I will check what are the 2 missing objects and try to add them.
My problem is that I'm close to the track size max capacity...

What's the best way to share the track with the community ?
I don't know how to upload it here...
