I'm trying to run GP3 with DxWnd.

But there are a lot of configs.

Does anyone knows where we can find a tutorial, or a good configuration to be used as temoplate?

Thanks and Happy New Year!

hi you may find here some screenshots and there is a file .dxw which you can use for Import. Mind, you may have to edit the paths of game and/or the gpxpatch , if you use it.

It Worked.

The game runs with excelent performance. Frame Ratye, Keyboard response, all of them working quite well.

But... look the images.

Part of the cars and the objects doesn't appears.

Is there any additional config that can be used?

that's seemed the bug converting black into transparent , which doesn't work with intel integrated GPU card drivers , since 2016 about.

So you may try :

1. select "directX version" to 7, in the option limit ddraw interface, select it and be sure is on 7.
and/or
2. select Trim texture formats.
and/or
3. change the render in SDL one or hybrid or GDI.
and / or
3. Discard dxWnd and try dgvoodoo 2.52 version. It will be more compatibility and works well, but worse performance.

hi

I have been playing around with Dxwnd also with GP3 but in relation to trying to get the megapatch mods working right. I mean, i can get the graphics looking right but the processor occupancy still gets too high when a race is on

I am actually using Dgvoodoo and Dxwnd together and where Gpxpatch is involved, i dont put that into Dxwnd, just the GP32000.exe, and when i runt he game with GPXpatch it automatically initialised Dxwnd too. I found playing with the settings in the Directx 1 tab in Dxwnd can change the textures - play around with both the dirext x version hook and the renderer options to find a working combination.

Anyone can post a dxw-file working with GP3-2000?

Any help welcome, thank you!

I think you cannot do anything with dxWnd , for black transparency. just DgVoodoo can sort with that.
Dxwnd uses the direct X native (which are those make black transparency ) of your real graphics card,

DgVoodoo re-write the direct X and virtualize a graphic card via software.

So you can use DgVoodoo (I suggest 2.52 version ). That will sort also the black transparency.

..understood. Thank you very much, very helpfull!

DgVoodoo works, but produces brightblue edges along transparent pixel-areas. This happens with DgVoodoo 2.52 and all versions up (in my case). The brightblue edges are shown on steeringwheel, trees fences..

Any solution?

I never experienced that with dgvoodoo 2.52, in GP3 and GP3 2k.
Check if not related to a setting of phisical graphic card , as antialias, FXAA, or anasitropics , put all at "application controlled", also in dgvoodoo settings
put just vram 512, resolution NOT FORCED , screen centered , no mipmapping, fast memory access.

try it,
thinking about, there is also another wrapper, (but believe has the same defects of dxwnd) , which is Ddraw-compat .
you can find here :
