MegaPatches x34 - Updated and all in one place (ref. 2026)

Glad that worked for you!
I cannot lay claim to the tracks. All I have done with them, for each mod where its was needed, is create new jams (graphics files) to make the trackside adverts more accurate. I have made the odd building or gravel trap too. I even added the daises to the imola grass and created that interesting statue at Detroit!
I make all the menus, improve car graphics (skins) in-game helmets and make all you see from the cockpit view, visors, driver's arms, legs etc. I add music and a few other little tweaks here and then. Each mod takes me about 3 months. I am now working on 1993 and 1971 having finished 2007 recently. Keeps me busy and is a great way to relax. I do race them too and am currently coming to the end of F1 1985.
Do check the READ ME file with all mods and make use of the excel sheet if you want to record your season.

Happy racing from London.

well that sounds like you are doing alot of work - combining both your own creations and that of others.I like that you tweak track ads to fit the season . just on the purple tyre graphic issue, i am assumign this will be present on every season, - but would it be right for me to use the same tyre fix for every season? i would think the tyres to be quite different across the seasons. i guess i can manually edit the tire files myself in photoshop
All the tyres are specific to the seasons for tyre manufacturer logos and colouring, so you would need to edit for each. That purple issue is specific to certain graphics cards only so you are just unlucky with that.
F1 1997 Mod?
No 1997 mod from me at the moment. I am working on 1971 and 1993 at the moment, but will eventually get around to 1997
Any news about 71 and 93 Elio?
Hi Eriksg74

I have six days holiday this Easter, so I am finally getting some time to work on F1 1993. But don't expect it soon. I have a lot of work to do. I am aiming for the end of this year. But you never know, I might get some more time for it over the summer. Sometimes I speed through quicker than I expect. I am working through making the menus today. Scanning a lot of images from books like Autocourse.

The 1971 megapatch is next in the line. No idea when that will be ready. I might make the menus for the carset and share that as an earlier preview.

Thanks for your interest.

Elio
I have all the componets for 1990 but I dont plan to do it any time soon. I have made 1989 and 1991 so 1990 would just be a hybrid of those two. Only unique feature would be Alesi in a tyrrell for the whole year.
Sorry!

No problem! ;-)

I was going to ask about 1993, but I saw you're already working on it ;-)

I'm happy and excited for this megapatch :-)

1991 and 1993 are my favorite F1 seasons!

Yes - I am working on 1993, but I am also working on 2025, so it wont be soon! You might need to be patient. Keep checking by.
It would make a great Christmas gift :-)

Hi Plodekk

Just to let you know that I am making great progress in making F1 1993. Probably about 70% of the way there.
If all goes to plan, you should have it much earlier than Christmas.
Thanks for your interest. It has inspired me to make this a priority.
There is F1 1991 and 1994 to play in the meantime.

Cheers.
Elio
Wow, what great news, Elio! :-)

Santa Claus might come early kkkkkkk

I'm looking forward to this MegaPatch. As I said, 1991 and 1993 are my favorite F1 seasons. They were the seasons when Senna's talent shone most.

Thanks for the news and good work! ;-)

Hi, well it seems i still hav enot been able to get any real definitive procedure for getting the megapatch mods performing best. The best result is if i can run the game in 800x600 resolution in windows 11 and this is despite having a gaming laptop from 2022 that would be more than capable of playing this game well - in fact i can play GP4 mods with much better performance (though i still prefer GP3) - I was still have able to get your steering wheel fixed when its switched to 800x600.

Currently the best setup i find is using dgvoodoo and combining this with dxwnd and tweaking both to try and get things right in 1024x768 resolution. The only issue is that i just cant seem to get the processor occupancy down especially at race start.
At the start of a race its around 200-250% and doesnt drop down until after the first corner. The PO gets up again into the 100s when there are more cars on screen thereafter. Surely there must be some way to stop the PO getting so unnecessarily high.

Currently I am trying the 96 mod.

I have had to switch off belinis visor mod stuff because that was just further slowing things down

glad to see you are trying to run the MegaPatches on modern machines / Win 11. Sorry I cant help you, as I am no expert on trying to do this. I run a dedicated laptop for playing GP3 (thinkpad T430) on Windows 7 and get very low PO at all times.
i guess the best thing will be once the Grand Prix games are all rereleased by Microprose on steam and they will have workshop support and so people will be able to make mods that run better on newer systems. Unfortunately one doesnt always have access to older machines with which they can dedicate to playing some older games. Frankly though i dont understand why the newer systems with their much more powerful graphics and processing have more problems. Its really only GP3 that i have this issue with though annoyingly, and only with the GPXpatch.

However something I notice is that the 02 Season mod which i have (i think that is by you also?) That one actually runs perfectly fast and PO issues. The 96, 89 and 98 season mods though do struggle with PO. So i dont know what you have done differently with the 02 mod. - i notice it uses an older version of GPXpatch. - would it work for me to swap out the GPXpatch versions in the 96 mod with an older version?
Good news for me it seems, the screen resolution of 640x480 actually works perfectly with your mod, perhaps it correctly scales to the 1024x768 size in a way that 800x600 does not. at 640x480 i get much much lower PO and that makes things far more playable.
