Hanoi crashes to desktop (SOLVED!)

The Hanoi preview track (https://www.grandprixgames.org/read.php?43,1129552) frequently crashes to desktop when I load the game in the pit (for a qualifying) or just after a setup change.

Do anybody have any idea why does it happens?

I've tried to remove the 0xc5 and 0xc6 commands, the problem persists.

Try to: "enable debug mode", "log file verbosity: low" and "max. track length: 10km"

Tried and failed.

Did you run the track? Is the problem just with me?

Hi Degas

Some considerations:

The author Tsauer made this DAT for GP3 1.13 (note that inside the DAT it has Magic Data)

In the "readme.txt" file he mentions that not yet tested on GP3 2k

My configurations and tests: ( Win7 64bits )

GP3 1.13 + GPxPacth 4.23 => "Enable debug mode" + "log file verbosity: Low" + "Compatibity Use CPU All" + "'Max. Track length: 10km"

GP3 2k + GPxPacth 4.51 => "Enable debug mode" + "log file verbosity: Low" + "Compatibity Use CPU 0" + "'Max. Track length: 20km"

I used the same DAT ( all original files from ZIP ) and everything worked fine. No problem here.

"GP3 2k + GPxPacth 4.51 => "Enable debug mode" + "log file verbosity: Low" + "Compatibity Use CPU 0" + "'Max. Track length: 20km" - except I use GP3 1.13

Aparently these configurations works better.

But the problem still persists. Less frequently, but it is there.

Have you tried to enter in the "acceleretion time" during a qualify and stop it back to the pit wall? Or press Shift+Q to go backto the pits during a hotlap?

Hi Degas

I did the test in Slot 13 - GP3 2k
I was the first to leave the pits and my qualify was in second position.
I did a lap with a very high time to fall to the last position.
As soon as I completed the lap I went to the pits with SHIFT + Q (I didn't even remember it anymore) and then put it in accelerated mode.
I started at last position and after the first corners I left the game on my own, without any problems.
Everything worked well here.
What slot are you taking this test on?
I can take the test again in the same slot as yours.
I haven't tested it on other slots !!!

I used the 3 and 4 slots.

Have you tried with and without rain conditions?

But will try the 13th now.

After a precious help from Mr. "Evroic Holmes" (hehehe) we found the problem.

Apparently, the 116_palm1.jam, in the trees directory, was the Vilain.

I edited it (by using jameditor tool) and I saw the size of the jam did not fit the canvas size.

I decrease the jam by two units and, until now, the problem is gone.

Tnahks you all, and thanks to Mr. "Sherlock" Evroic by the attention.

Hi Mr Degas,

Thank you for your considerations.

I am very happy to know that this case has been resolved and to have contributed in some way with my help.

I have not forgotten that on several occasions you have shared your files with me and have helped me on other occasions. I'm just giving it back.

I also thank everyone who taught me, helped and shared their knowledge and files with me.

Now is the time for fun.

Let's go to Hanoi (go-go-go)

* * * HANOI FIX * * *

Only two types of problem with GP32K were detected in Win7

A- Only car 1 of team 1 is pink

Solution: replace the "hanoi_trucks.jam" file

B- Crash to Desktop

Solution: replace the "116_palm1.jam" file

Other problems have not been reported or are known at the time of this posting.

These problems were not found in Windows XP, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

My special thanks to Dirk Holemans, Hans-Helmut Wiencke and Alvaro Degas who participated in the tests and exchanged information.
