MegaPatch F1 1989 UPDATED

Hi all

I am very close to finishing my newest installment of the megapatch series. 1989 - senna vs prost.
I just have a few jams to update so that the track ads match the year accurately. I hope to finish before I have to go back to work on the 3rd Jan, but if not I will upload a beta version for feedback.

I should finish later today. One 'error' is that I am using a 1987 silverstone, so it does not have the goodyear bridge on the hanger straight. Would be good to be able to add that. I am good at Jams and graphics generally, but not skilled at adding items using the track editor.

I'm using a '91 Silverstone in my current track pack.
Do you think you could use the bridge from that track and just edit the track jams to show the blue Goodyear logo instead?

Just an idea of course!

The 1991 track layout is very different to the 1989 one, which is the same as 1987. Its just that they built the bridge before the race in 1989. I think it is better to have the right track shape, missing the bridge than to have the bridge but completely the wrong track shape.

Full credit to those that made the carskins and so many other items. I take credit for menu art and jam updates from Ettore's 1987 to make 1989.
Anyone interested in adding the Goodyear bridge to the hanger straight at Silverstone? Would be massively appreciated.

Look out for the folder marked 'extra carsets' inside is an early, mid and late version to try.

I had wondered if you could "snip" the portion of track with the bridge from the 1991 track and move (somehow!) over to your 1987 layout... if you see what I mean.
Wasn't sure if that was a possibility or not. It's only a small detail anyway! You're right, the original layout is more important than the bridge.

Can't wait to try your MegaPatch later!

Started a new season last night with your 1989 MegaPatch ELIO, it's great!! Can see a lot of effort put in there, really detailed.

One small question, do you know which panel I would have to edit in GPxPatch to remove the small rev count in the top left of the screen?

Really glad you are enjoying it. Makes the work worthwhile. Re. the problem with the rev counter, not sure what you mean as I don't get that problem. Send me a screenshot to proethenbaugh@hotmail.co.uk on on here and I will see whats is what. I hope you can see the drivers' arms and legs ok as well as the personalized steering wheel for each team.

First of all great work. There are two more tracks with different lay-outs. Canada uses the long strait which only came in after 1995 and phoenix which was only used three years (89-91) used a different lay-out in 1989. Both tracks have been made for gp3 I believe. I also miss magic-data and a physics file. Beyond that excelent work!!

Thanks for the feedback. Another 'error' is that I've used the 1987 Hungaroring which has the chicane at about turn 3. I used it as the jams are good but it would be good to be able to lose the chicane. I used the 1991 phoenix as the jams are much better than any other phoenix I have seen.
And there is the missing bridge for silverstone hanger straight mentioned before.
Don't forget there are 3 different carsets in the file for early, mid and late giving you Dallara, Onyx and Larrousse as additions.

Solved my question with the revs showing in the top left of my screen. Not sure what caused that. (I have now un-ticked "show text" in one of the GPxPatch panel options).
Think this is my favourite season patch I've owned for the game.

elio, if you want me to have look at silverstone, please let me know.
i only need the info what bridge and which advert you want. (a photo can say more than words)

This can be a 5 minute job, so don't hesitate to ask

btw, i haven't installed the patch yet, but i'm looking forward to do so this WE.

I hope you have seen all the other megapatches I have made for you to try from 1969 to 2009.
I am trying to decide what to do next. I have 1996 half done, I might start 1979 or do 2000 ...

Great job Elio! as always your Megapatches are extremely beautiful! Everything is well done in every detail! I know how long it takes to do all this. Thanks for your commitment. I'm glad you used my tracks again. You continue like this, it's good for the whole Gp3 community!

Hi Ettore

Your feedback is really appreciated! Glad I could use your tracks. Its great you notice all the details, it is time consuming but worth it in the end. I seem to be able to get enough leisure time to work through these. I'll have F1 2000 turned into a mega patch during the next month then i will move on to an older season like 1979 or 1996.
