I have made these conversions for GP3: Gellerasen - Sweden, Trois Riviere - Canada, Edmonton - Canada, Richmond - USA and Riverside 1960 - USA...

Only worked a bit on Riverside. Others are just .dat files and they might be used as a base for others work :)

Available in download section 'cart and other tracks'....

Sorry if I'm crossing the wrong topic. I have a bunch of unfinished GP2 tracks on my hd and for some of them, I lost the hopes of ever completing the job. Let me know if you guys have interest on checking them.

Here is a small example. A quick conversion of the layout and ccline for Potrero the Los Funes, Argentina. I did not add any graphics so it is pretty much naked. The conversion wasn't kind to the ccline. The track looks narrower in GP3 and when making the GP2 track I tried to follow the line used by TC cars which use the sidetrack a lot. But this became much exaggerated in GP3. Maybe widening the track will help. In GP2, there is no point of the track where the car goes completely off like in this GP3 conversion. I hope it is useful somehow. Here is the link -> [dl.dropboxusercontent.com]

I think it's a good idea to upload the conversions to the download section. The more tracks the better and some fine day someone might take the challenge and improve the circuit(s)...
In this way we have a basic .dat file to build on, much better than nothing at all... :) You have my vote (Y)(Y)

I'll soon be able to upload files. Anyway, I didn't want that file polluting the downloads section. I think I will work on it a bit tomorrow (holidays are for track editing, right?) to fix the width issues and maybe add some basic stuff like track markings and then upload it.

That sounds good :-) I'm afraid that I did pollute our download section with these símple, basic and plain conversions - but - if we for future only upload these "work files" into that topic "GP2 to GP3 conversions" I hope everything is okay :-)

Nah your files are fine. That one I posted that was almost undriveable.

I'm probably not going to able to change the track tomorrow. If you downloaded it, do it again (same link). I corrected the width, most of the kerbs and fences and added back a ccline sector that was lost in the conversion.

Also the last vol3 is available in download section... :)

It contains the following conversions (work files) :

Pukekohe, New Zealand
El Pinar, Uruguay
Bikernieki, USSR (Riga)
JyllandsRingen, Denmark (very bad cc-line and many bugs - a shame as it is the most famous and most used race track in Denmark in newest lay-out)

It's wintertime in Europe - so I tried to make some 'winter test tracks' from a couple of the GP2 to GP3 conversions.

7 tracks can be found in download section 'CART and other tracks'... :)

Don't know if someone follows Grand Prix Rejects, but we HAVE to convert Akrotiri Bay!

I mean, we NEED a Cyprus Grand Prix!

(If you didn't get it, GP Rejects are the old F1 Rejects. They have an Alternate F1 series and have raced at Akrotiri Bay as for the Cyprus Grand Prix)

I don't think the Akrotiri Bay circuit is ever made for even GP2, so a conversion to GP3 is not possible. But perhaps someone knows a bit more then I do ;)

Thanks for info Dirk, I didn't see the track in the 'track section' but I noticed that one has to look for the Cyprus flag when selecting a track country (Y)

Finally two new tracks from Finland are added to the Winter test track pack, please download again if you want to test/modify/improve... :>

There are problems with the pitcrew on the old Keimola circuit. I can't solve it using the cmd's for 'left/right pit' - you are more than welcome to try and fix it.

The fictional Lehkonen track is a flat circuit and I made it a bit wider to fit the cc-line.

But all in all - it is only work files and you can take a spin around if you like :)

Hi Henrik !!!!

I'm a bit confused, please clarify me.

I realized that in this new package besides the two new tracks from Finland, the others are with different dates and there are also some more new jam files.

As I already installed, I thought it was just add these two ...

But from what it seems, I ask.

Should I disregard the previous package and install it all again from this?

tks

Hi :-)
Yes, the download package is changed a little bit, but just allow it to overwrite and all should be fine :-)
