It's easy.
Download DgVoodoo - [dege.freeweb.hu]
Run the game with this wrapper.
Some glitches using high resolutions and PO Occupancy rocketed with GPxPatch.
But at least is playable....

Fantastic! This is a very good news!
It works for me with GP3 1.13, the first time I play it with Windows 7!
But I have still to manage the graphics in order to obtain a faster play.

I tried also one time with GP3-2000 but it crashed suddenly after loading screen.
Maybe a clean installation will solve the problem.

Thank you for sharing this important news!

Hi, i'm sorry if i'm being thick. I don't really know how you run the game through this? I've downloaded it and opened the setup but where do I go from there? Sorry I don't have any experience of using anything like this.

The only thing you need to do is copy the two directx related dll's into the gp3 installation folder.
(It did not work on my pc I got an error message saying that there was no directdraw installed on my system)

Since I now have a Nvidia card in my system I decided to test dgvoodoo again hoping it would fix the pink rings around the front tires issue.
dgvoodoo works fine now but it didn't help with the pink rings issue. :(

I'm still having no luck with mine, I get a 'bad image' error and it tells me that ddraw.dll is incompatable with windows then my virus software deletes it! Grrr.

Just put the dll files in the main folder, and as long as your uncle's name is Bob and you have a decent PC you're all set.

This seems to work for me too, but I get a tremendous slowdown whenever the cars leave the grid, otherwise a very good find which is very much appreciated Faustini!

Check your graphics settings, does it say anything about "dgvoodoo DirectX Wrapper"? Try recalibrating as well.

I have no experience with that particular settings, but:
-I don´t think you need PhongShading
-VerticalSync slows down every system by 20-30%, maybe more (switch it off 2x!)
-as GP3 was only using a very old DirectX version (maybe the first ever), you could try to turn it down to a low version
-maybe lower the VRAM as the game does not need so much (65.536kb / 131.072kb might be well above what you need)
-maybe no need GlideGammaRamp (almost sure the game doesn´t support that)
+always!! do that changes one by one and always do a test afterwards to see what happens with the game

back to your problem from the other thread like:
"I saw "cards.txt" and graphical card that contains on it was 7300GT old). I'll try to recalibrate, but game crashes and closes."
-game always crashes when doing a recalibration, don´t worry about that
-more important is that now you find the correct name of your gcard inside the file "gconfig.txt" and you can copy it into your "cards.txt"

good luck!
