Is there a easy way of applying sponser logos onto cars where it doesn't mess with the car's paint colours? I don't know how to make the logo have a transparent background.

It depends which type of logo you are using.

If you are using a normal image it is (in my opinion) harder than using one that came from a program like Photoshop or Inkscape (in files with the extension eps, svg, ai, pdf and a few more I cannot remember).

Here is an example of the second option.

I use gimp as the program for photoshop so how would I go about getting logos from there?

I saw the logos and they will come in handy for me. I have another question to ask. Where can I find car numbers to use? I can make my own but they sometimes don't look so good ingame. Is there a place I can go to download car numbers?

Is there a tutorial on how to apply logos? I still can't do it the right way.

There is a tuto by truecrisis (Connor Steer) in the GP4 section on how to paint a template with The Gimp (I don't remember the name of the topic but you can find it with the search options) You surely find some hints on it that will help you.

The tutorial only refers to painting. I know how to paint a car, it's applying sponsers that I need help with.

Ok. didn't remember that part. You need to erase the background of your sponsor picture with the fuzzy selection tool. Tuto is here

Alright, I'll be sure to give it a try. But what file type should the logo be? BMP, or other ones?

Any kind I think as long as you can open them in The Gimp.
I personaly use bmp, gif, jpeg and png as well.

True. I use BMP format for logos. I think it would be easier if someone could do a video tutorial on applying sponsers, but I don't know who could do one.

At that point you just have to click with your tool in a blank part of your logo picture and then press Del tab to erase the blank part.
Now you got your logo with no background.

Then drag your logo into your car template.
You now just have to adjust the size and positioning of your logo into the template to fit your wishes.

Well... That's the way it works in Photoshop. :-)
