damn :( atleast we were leading for a few laps. :)

but i still dont have a good feeling about this... =/
GPGSL R16 - Nurburgring Race (Part 3)

Nell pops up the inside of his team-mate...

...who’s now under fire from Thomas.

Thomas pops a move down the inside and makes it stick.

Greenhalgh is in a league of his own out there...

Aleksander, Jalving and Pedersen make up the top 4.

Jalving’s pitted, so Pedersen’s elevated to 3rd.

Maverick’s got Hinz for company...

...but stays ahead.

Johnson’s in 21st having pitted...

...and others follow suit.

For this reason Edwards is elevated to 3rd, and still has Warrington behind him.

Steer has Christel stablemate Elleker behind him.

Warrington’s having a pop at Edwards...

He can’t quite get the job done, as Pedersen dives into the pits.

Greenhalgh pitted earlier, and found himself within a gaggle of midfielders.

Greidanus is up to 4th, but he’s yet to pit. Maverick is 3rd.

Greenhalgh steams past Somogyi in the hairpin.

Currently, the lads at the sharp end have yet to pit.

Sheppard’s in 19th, slowly closing in on Johnson.

Greidanus is now in 1st, but has yet to pit. Greenhalgh is slowly closing in.

Cartwright flings one down Warrington’s way.

The TNRs are line astern, with Hinz keeping them honest.

Hunsley makes a nuisance of himself, forcing Jalving to touch him before going in to pit.

Steer’s the only man yet to pit, and sits in 2nd.

Vilela tries one on Thomas.

Steer finally pits; Greenhalgh retains the lead and is followed by Aleksander and Jalving.

Warrington’s really having a go, but it’s not working out.

However, you can see he’s made the move somewhere, he’s now into 3rd.

EDWARDS IS OFF!

Has he beached it?

No, he’s kept it going. Such a shame though; he was having a very good race.

Warrington’s scooted away in 3rd, he’s closing in on Aleksander.

Maverick tries one on Kittleson...

...and as he flings it down on the run to the hairpin, a clear drying line has appeared.

Kittleson keeps 6th, though.

It’s evident that people have seen enough dry line to warrant coming in.

Warrington’s really homing in on Aleksander now.

Despite the rain, the dry line has extended to the hairpin. Cartwright has joined many others on slicks.

DUUUUN-dun. DUUUUN-dun. DUN-dun, DUN-dun...etc.

Thomas, in the meantime, loses 10th to Steer.

Warrington’s all over Aleksander now...

Cartwright fancies a go at Hunsley...

...but doesn’t quite manage it.

Lo and behold, we’ve missed the move that took Warrington to 2nd.

Jalving’s having a run at Thomas...

Believe it or not, Steer’s in 3rd. He pitted later than everyone else 2nd time around, and was able to take on some slicks then.

Thomas lost 6th to Jalving, and now has Aleksander for company.

The final part will be here soon...

GPGSL R16 - Nurburgring Race (Part 4)

Would you Adam-and-Eve it? The man who started last, Ruben Greidanus, is in the lead. He was in the same boat as Steer on the second stops, and he’s really made it work.

Steer is easy pickings for Warrington, who’s as quick as a cheetah on these fresher tyres.

Pedersen covets 6th, and starts testing Thomas’ resolve.

Maverick gets over-eager into the chicane, and hits Kittleson.

He loses 15th to Nell, who’s romping away.

Pedersen’s still testing Thomas.

The track’s the driest it’s been all day, and Warrington gets a fast lap in...

Now, we’ve got 4 laps, a gap of 3.7 seconds and Greenhalgh on fresh tyres...this should be interesting.

Some positions, as Johnson tries a move on Elleker:

Now this is brave from Hunsley, he parks his car on the apex...

...but the risk doesn’t pay off and you can just see him off line.

But he recovers and carries on, albeit a couple of places down.

Now Somogyi’s under pressure from Hinz.

Horvath sees Thomas as an easy target, as he’s haemorrhaged places in the last few laps.

What’s going on here? Hunsley’s been spun a little...

...and Kittleson’s slithered through the mess ahead of Hunsley.

Horvath’s still trying...

...and eventually gets ahead.

Cartwright sniffs out an opportunity and dispatches his limping teammate.

And it’s the last corner, who’s it gonna be?

That’s right ladies, gentlemen and Russell Brand, Ruben Greidanus has won from last on the grid.

Greenhalgh takes 2nd.

Warrington 3rd.

Aleksander finishes 4th.

Connor Steer continues the surprises, finishing 5th.

Charrel Jalving comes home in 6th.

Pedersen 7th, he might be a little disappointed with that.

Pole-sitter Horvath finishes 8th.

Cartwright and Thomas, the SCR boys, finish 9th and 10th.

Hinz finishes 11th.

Somogyi rounds out the points scorers in 12th.

And despite coming last, Edwards bashes in a very quick lap to get a consolation point.

The classified results will be posted in a sec.

at least some points but the strategy did cost me quite a lot i guess.

Results

(Everyone made the mandatory 2 stops, but a few made 3 stops like Greenhalgh, Jalving, Warrington and Aleksander and hence lost out to Greidanus and Steer. I assume the result stands as is.)

It was a pleasure doing all that, a big thanks goes to Stu who sent me the things and gave a run-down of what needs to be done, and to John M who provided me with the details.

The race definitely made up for the quali and practice in my eyes, I just hope I've been able to convey that in my coverage.

However, for ART we had an absolute nightmare of a race! The strategy just did not work at all for Rod, and the car just didn't work for Carlos.

No comment on this. I'm shocked about my own performance. But congratulations to Ruben. Heck of a job there, although I'm really wondering how he did that.

Looks like I partly need to reverse my opinion about the fight for 2nd. As Warrington and Aleksander finished very close to Ruben, I still think that he'll have a hard fight for 2nd in the WDC. But this win has increased his chances, for sure.

again get a point...
Surprising result.
congratulations to Ruben Graidanus, however this was done.

And how did we manage 14th? Great, first race, good position *happy*
Congrats Ruben to the win! (B)

Very disappointing to chuck away a points finish in the closing stages :/

At least Chris was able to salvage something from the weekend.

Disappointing race from me :(
Really hope my purple Silverstone lid gains me a few tenths

We made both stops too early, so we needed a 3rd stop for slicks, and I lost 7 places from pole...

Charel finished ahead of me, so we need to beat him for the 6th place in the championship...
Owen Edwards @oensan 1h
Gutted. Got on the white line a bit too much entering Valvoline. Shame I could only show my true speed with a dominant fastest lap.

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
WTF, from last place on the grid to win the race! :-o

I just made history, big thanks to the crew for the chosen strategy. (Y)

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Happy to score points, but very unhappy by finishing in 7th....had hoped for a podium finish!
After seeing this, I'm off to Silverstone. I need shelter to protect myself from the anger of the boss. Anyone? ;-)

Just to make sure are we currently still using the Arai 2005 shape, or have we switched over the Maikel's Arai Gp-5 2008 shape?
