Also, I know we're only halfway through this season, but for next season we're going to be doing things a little differently. And one thing you will need is your own helmet design

Each participant will need to submit a helmet design in order to sign up to season 3, so I thought I'd give you guys a head start by announcing this now. The helmet we will all use is the Arai GP-6 by josekast:



Download the package here. You will need photoshop or paint.net or some other image editor. Post any questions here.

Cool; Unfortunately I've got the artistic ability - and aesthetic sense - of a pebble, but luckily I've got a buddy at the opposite end of the spectrum who owes me a favour.

My only concern is how this might affect those who just want to try out an event; Are they going to want to - potentially - download an image editor and do a design for just a single event?

Other than that, I look forward to seeing what people come up with.

NO, i will not continue wasting my time.
I know the current physics are better for keyboar drivers.
I have proved it, you simply dont want to listen on purpose

I know what your doing, its to stall as much as possible until is too late for me

What do you use to watch the replays posted on gp4 central, just wanting to be nosey

They appear as a .qrd file and have nothing to run them.

Put them in your GPSAVES folder - where your own replays/car setups etc are stored.

Start up GP4, click 'load' and select the appropriate file.

You then use the replay controls, F1 to F4 (or F5), to go back to the start.
(I can't remember the buttons off of the top of my head unfortunately.)

Could you post a guide or something explaining what we're meant to do with the various helmet files?

Is there a standalone program we can use to view the helmet?

Tom I have a question after doing another race at Suzuka

First it was a clean race I know
So after crossing the line exited & saved before "Race Over" as usual

Then viewed & saw lap 1 @ 33sec or so shows a spin that did not occur.
So I hit F2 at that point to fast forward & yes ... race was normal ...with normal finish
Which is what happened

So I saved it again
But when I tried to submit that one I got this error....
Invalid Entry: You must not save / reload a race. The whole lap / race must be completed in a single attempt.

So I went ahead & submitted the original one that I saw the aberation on lap one @33sec
It was accepted.

Why does that glitch in a replay occur?

Since its more than clear that your not listening to the suggestions about the physics
and a sort of compensation to wheel drivers i would like to announce my retirement from this league.

Also I will not allow in Season 3 to use any of my tracks and track updates for this league.
I didnt want to get to that but you gave me no choice.

Yes Eric it is set to Weather Type Realistic so anything possible.

But the only thing is it kind of wastes time because none of us will likely accept the wet race as it will be slower for sure.

Would be fun though to have a wet round where we all had to race in the wet

Except now, at the time of me writing this, there is a Force India at the top of board....and that is just not good enough!
(Nice run Jordhy, and good fastest lap as well!)

Somehow I'd gotten it into my head that doing this helmet was going to be some horribly convoluted process but, once I realised that it was no different to other texture work I'd done in the past for another game, I decided to give it a crack before bothering my friend with it.





After some trial and error - at first, all the white parts were coming up black - I even got it working fine in-game as well.

It seems some of the replays are getting corrupted. It looks like they fix themselves during lap 3 so the replay completes fine. Oh well, not a major issue, but it would be better if we could view the whole replay. Don't think there's anything we can do about it though.

@GP_maniac - download the mod we use (2014 mod - Laptop Edition) and then download the guys' replays from the leaderboard. Load them in game to view them.

But yes as you said at least the 3rd laps are still there & show the clean finishes

So maybe i want to drive some laps here but first.
I hate the steeringhelp in gp4 so i can drive without steeringhelp right?

And i have to drive without TC because i am a Wheeldriver right? Mhh not a good combination tbh.
Because without TC the car isn't a car. It is more a beast out of leash. But okay i think i'll give this a go

Does anyone know how to get a pc controller working with gp4

I have a microsoft x360 usb controller which works perfectly with f1 2013 etc, just wanting to use it on gp4
