Hmm it seems the validation failed to pick up your Mercedes. It should have stopped that being submitted. I'll fix that tomorrow.

My car seems to be scrapping the track at high speeds. For some odd reason if i increase my ride height, it gets worser! Is there any solution to this?

No Prob Tom was my fault for not reading
the rules completely

I re-submitted a different lap in the Williams

Thanks

It's a funny old thing plank scraping......on hot laps like this, a little doesn't really hurt - it can even help in some instances I find - unless you've got so much that it bites the ground when turning and tries to kill you.

Increased ride height, lower fuel levels, less wing angle, stiffer suspension and - if needed - packers all help.

Tom or anyone in competition...
just wondering if anyone else is having some oddities
at this track?

I have had at least 5 hotlaps come up with a different time than
actual.
Also a few corrupted ones
where the lap was fine & generates a file that looks fine
but in replay usually corrupted around turns 3 or 4?

I once thought I just had to set the Shift/Backspace start point
further back but this last time I was quite a ways back & had another two bad runs
One where time was shown close to a second higher than actual & the other
fine time wise but corrupted replay.

Just wondering
Thanks

PS: I do think it is the shift/backspace car reset deal as I now had it set even further back & worked ok

Setting the reset point further back always reduces the risk of corrupting the replay. I think that's probably the problem.

Your choice of a Force India is costing at least some of that time. Jump into a Mercedes W05 - it's there to be used!

I see a battle for 2nd place.

Do you want to bet anything?

:-)

Well with 3 days left I would not rule anything out

But I love seeing 1st & 2nd place separated by less than 100th of a sec
Then 3rd only a hair over 100th of a second from 2nd place

Pretty amazing when one considers it is a computer sim

Looks like Tom has created a very competitive season with a good amount of racers
Lots of fun

Incorrect, your looking at the 2nd place battle.
Again, you want to bet anything?

I dont agree, these physics are clearly better for keyboard drivers
and more when drving with F2 (auto gears) and T-cam driving.

@TOM: Why you allow T-cam driving? Its not real. Real drivers dont sit on top of the air cooler on
top of the car to drive.

heheh :-)

No bets I just enjoy the fun of it. ;-)

That is pretty funny too about "Real" drivers dont sit on top of their car.

Do real drivers sit behind a desk with a plastic steering wheel?

Just kidding but it is all for fun
Why not join? You seem to be very interested in the event

Come have some fun (Y)

I think you need to read what i wrote above.
I said: Drivers dont sit on top the air cooler of their engine (where the T-Cam is) to drive.
You find that real?

Since the idea is to try to simulate everythying at least possible things
then T-Cam driving should be banned.

Wheels drivers when they finish in the top 4 places they get fuel penalty + no TC.

Keyboard drivers should then have and aditional penalty besides the the fuel penalty.

Thats what i call fair.

Explain then how to play Gp4 without a keyboard or wheel and witout desk?...

Your question does not make any sense and has no logic at all.

These physics are designed for keyboard driving.
So i dont know if ill participate.

Yes I understood & meant to write sit not site which I corrected.
But as I said after... "just kidding" ;-)

As to whether I find it real?....seems about the same to me either way.
I drive both in cockpit view & T cam view. Also both manual & Auto transmission.
But I map the gears to the "/" key rather than space bar

I do not really think of either as "real" per se'
My eyes are getting bad so I do find the T-Cam view brighter & easier to see with.
As for banning it I guess if it was banned then I would drive only the other way
Not a big deal would still be fun.

Yes I think you should come have some fun too.
Never mind the physics etc. Just come have fun.
I enjoyed seeing some of your replays last year
As they say here...Don't think too much ;-)

Its not the same because when you drive with auto gears the gears shifts automatically up
or down when accelerating or breaking. When NOT ON auto gears you have to shift manually
up or down the gears, that makes you loose time because you have to do it and not the PC or laptop.

About T-Cam you can view more precisely where to turn than cockpit view. That can be an advantage
and besides its not real.

Their can be exceptions for this but you have to proof your condition with the eyes.

I will think about it for a few days.
